On July 19, 2023 Agents with the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division were conducting general patrol in the area of Sidney Dr and Fayetteville Rd in Griffin/Spalding County, GA.

Agents observed the driver of a white in color Kia Optima Ga Tag [REDACTED] to be using her cell phone. Agents were following behind the Kia and their emergency equipment was activated in Spalding County, at the Fayette County line. The driver continued to travel west on Fayetteville Rd, where Agents Observed the driver to be moving her hands around the driver and passenger side and also in the backseat area. The driver pulled into the Flynt River Country Store.

Agent Daniels approached the driver and could smell the odor of suspected marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. Agent Daniels advised the driver of the reason for the stop and the driver advised that she was watching a video. Agent Daniels asked the driver to exit the vehicle and she was identified as Leah Goen (W/F DOB /1978).

A search of the Kia was conducted and a clear plastic bottle with an unknown cloudy liquid was found, an orange in color pill bottle containing an oily-like substance, suspected to be Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid (GHB), and a blunt with a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana was found. Agent Zambujo requested that Spalding Dispatch have next list towing dispatched, and Crown Towing was called.

Sergeant J. Fuller with the Uniform Patrol Division arrived and Leah was advised that she was under arrest. Sgt. Fuller searched Leah on scene and no contraband was found. Agent Zambujo requested that Leah be strip searched at the Detention center due to Leah’s furtive movements prior to stopping the car and the suspected marijuana that was located inside of the vehicle. Leah was transported to Detention by Sgt. Fuller.

Leah’s vehicle was inventoried and turned over to Crown Towing.

Sgt. Fuller advised Agents that narcotics were found on Leah at Detention during a search of her persons and that she had hid in her shorts. Detention staff recovered two (2) white in color oval shaped pills with the imprints of M365 suspected to be Hydrocodone, a white in color rectangular-shaped pill suspected to be Xanax, a blue in color round pill with the imprint of V2531 suspected to be Clonazepam were recovered.

On 07/20/2023 Agent Zambujo applied for an obtained arrest warrants on Leah for Crossing the Guardline (4 counts), Unlawful Use of Wireless Device, Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (2 counts), and Possession of Marijuana Less Than an Ounce.
