On June 27th, 2026 at approximately 0530 hours I, Sergeant Brandon Dix responded in emergency mode to [100 BLOCK] Westridge Drive in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant [REDACTED] (W/F) and the victim identified as [VICTIM #1] (W/M). [VICTIM #1] stated that around 0520 hours this date, he was asleep in the garage area of the residence and was woke up to a noise outside of the garage. [VICTIM #1] stated that he exited the garage and observed what appeared to be a silver in color SUV parked across the street and two subjects in dark clothing that appeared to be attempting to enter the vehicles in the driveway of [100 BLOCK] Westridge Drive.

[VICTIM #1] stated that he called out to the subjects and two additional subjects in the yard of his residence ran towards the silver SUV and as the subjects ran, one produced a handgun and fired 3 shots he believed were towards him. [VICTIM #1] stated that he laid down on the ground and all 4 subjects entered the silver SUV and took off at a high rate of speed.

[REDACTED] provided surveillance footage from her residence at [100 BLOCK] Westridge Drive and in the video, I observed two subjects cross the street from the SUV and go into the yard of [100 BLOCK] Westridge Drive. After a moment, you can hear a male voice and three distinct gunshots and then the same two subjects run from the yard and get into the silver SUV and they flee the scene.

While searching through the area, I was able to locate a single silver in color 9mm spent shell casing where [VICTIM #1] said the SUV was and also where the video showed. I notified the on-call investigator who was Sergeant A. Hammond and advised him of the incident.

To be noted, the 4 subjects and the silver SUV were suspected to be the same subjects from a previous entering auto call for service on Pincourt Loop.

While on scene, Sergeant Hammond advised that Lt. Strock located the vehicle utilized in the entering autos in the area of South Pinehill Road and had a lead in the area of Will’s Walk subdivision. Deputy P. Mc Vey remained on scene and I went to assist Sgt. Hammond. While assisting and searching the area of Will’s Walk, two black male subjects wearing similar clothing and a similar backpack matching the suspects from the aforementioned case numbers were located at [1000 BLOCK] Vineyard Road.

The subjects were identified as Leon Maurice MCCAMPBELL (B/M) and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (B/M ). MCCAMPBELL was found to be in possession of a black in color handgun containing the same ammunition kind of the shell casing I located earlier.

After further investigation, MCCAMPBELL and were taken into custody by Deputy Whitmer and Deputy H. Dix.

I turned the scene over to Sergeant A. Hammond and returned to service.
