On 07/07/2026, at approximately 0050 hours, I, Patrolman K. Smallwood, along with MPO M. Towns and other Griffin Police Department officers, were dispatched in non-emergency mode to [800 BLOCK] Crescent Lane, Griffin, Georgia 30224, in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress.

Upon arrival, I made contact with the victim, [VICTIM #1], a 53-year-old White male, who was standing in the driveway in front of his garage. [VICTIM #1] stated that his adult daughter, Lidia Archer, A 26-year-old White female, had recently moved into the residence with him. [VICTIM #1] advised that Lidia had been consuming a large amount of alcohol, was acting irate, and had been breaking items inside the residence. During my investigation, [VICTIM #1] admitted that he had also consumed alcoholic beverages but stated he was not nearly as intoxicated as Lidia.

[VICTIM #1] further advised that an argument began over Lidia’s intoxicated behavior. He stated that during the altercation Lidia bit him twice, causing visible injuries. I observed apparent bite marks on [VICTIM #1]’s right arm with bruising and fresh blood.

I asked [VICTIM #1] if Lidia was still inside the residence. [VICTIM #1] stated he did not know. [VICTIM #1] granted officers consent to enter the residence to locate Lidia and ensure no one else was inside.

Upon entering the residence, officers located Lidia Archer standing in the kitchen. She was using a burner on the stovetop to light a cigarette while holding an almost-empty bottle of Fireball whiskey. Officers observed the residence to be in disarray. Several chairs from the kitchen dinette set had been overturned, and one chair located near Lidia was completely destroyed. In the adjoining living room, the blinds covering the rear exit door had been ripped down and were scattered in pieces across the floor.

I escorted Lidia to the front porch to conduct an interview while Patrolman A. Jackson remained inside the residence to speak separately with [VICTIM #1]. During the interview, Lidia stated [VICTIM #1] was not in the right state of mind and believed he might suffer from dementia. Lidia stated she had recently moved into [VICTIM #1]’s residence after being kicked out of her mother’s home so she could help care for [VICTIM #1]. She also stated that she had recently lost custody of her children and had recently left an abusive relationship. Lidia admitted she had been drinking alcohol and stated she had been sitting on the back porch livestreaming on a social media platform when the incident occurred.

When asked if the altercation had been captured on the livestream, Lidia stated that it had; however, she advised she was unable to retrieve or replay the livestream footage for officers. Lidia initially stated there had been no physical altercation between herself and [VICTIM #1]. She later changed her statement and stated [VICTIM #1] came onto the back porch and attempted to take the liquor bottle from her, causing a physical altercation during which she bit him before returning inside the residence.

MPO Towns, who was present during the interview, entered the residence to continue speaking with [VICTIM #1]. During that interview, [VICTIM #1] disclosed for the first time that Lidia had also stabbed him with a serrated kitchen knife. Officers located 2 serrated kitchen knives on the back porch near several drops of what appeared to be fresh blood.

Patrolman S. Kendrick was requested to respond to the scene to photograph the evidence and injuries. The photographs were collected for submission into Patrol Pies.

After learning that a knife had been used during the altercation, MPO Towns and I confronted Lidia with the additional information. Lidia again changed her account of the incident and admitted that a physical altercation had occurred involving both the bite and the knife.

Throughout the investigation, Lidia provided multiple conflicting statements regarding what had occurred. She initially denied that any physical altercation had occurred, later admitted to biting [VICTIM #1], and ultimately admitted that she had possession of a knife during the altercation. Based upon [VICTIM #1]’s statements, Lidia’s admissions, the visible injuries sustained by [VICTIM #1], and the physical evidence recovered at the scene, Lidia Archer was detained. A visual inspection of Lidia revealed no apparent injuries, cuts, bruising, or other visible marks on her person.

Lidia was visually searched for weapons and contraband before being secured in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle, which had been inspected for weapons and contraband prior to the beginning of my shift, while the investigation continued.

Sergeant I Holley responded to the scene to supervise the investigation. After assessing the circumstances, Sergeant J. Holley contacted the on-call Criminal Investigation Division investigator, Investigator Berry. After being briefed on the facts of the incident, Investigator Berry advised that sufficient evidence existed and that his response to the scene was not necessary.

During the course of the investigation, Wellstar Spalding EMS arrived to evaluate [VICTIM #1]’s injuries. EMS personnel observed a stab wound to the outside of [VICTIM #1]’s left forearm and advised him that the wound could require one or two stitches if he chose to seek medical treatment. EMS also evaluated two bite wounds on [VICTIM #1]’s right arm. One bite mark was located on the upper inner portion of the arm and had broken the skin, causing bruising and bleeding. The second bite mark was located closer to the wrist and caused minor skin breakage with little to no bruising. [VICTIM #1] declined transport to the hospital and stated he wished to remain at his residence.

Patrolman S. Kendrick photographed [VICTIM #1]’s injuries, the two knives located on the back porch, the damaged table on the back porch, and the remainder of the scene as part of the investigation.

During the investigation, officers observed a security camera mounted on the back porch in the area where the altercation reportedly occurred. [VICTIM #1] advised that the camera was present; however, he did not have access to the recording system and had no means of retrieving or providing any video footage from the device. As a result, no video evidence was obtained from the camera at the time of the investigation.

During the investigation, Lidia stated that a cellular phone at the residence belonged to her. [VICTIM #1] advised that the phone was actually the property of his deceased mother and did not belong to Lidia. Due to the conflicting ownership claims, the phone was left at the residence.

[VICTIM #1] advised that the damaged kitchen table was valued at approximately $200, the damaged blinds were valued at approximately $200, and the damaged table located on the back porch was valued at approximately $200.

[VICTIM #1] completed and signed a Victim Sworn Testimony Statement, which was submitted into Griffin Police Department Evidence. The signed statement, along with the two knives recovered from the back porch, was placed into Evidence Locker #18.

Upon completion of the investigation, Lidia Archer was advised that she was under arrest for Aggravated Assault, Battery (Family Violence), and Criminal Damage to Property. Lidia was visually searched for weapons and contraband prior to transport. She was transported to the Spalding County Sheriff s Office via the safest and most direct route. Prior to entering the secure intake area, all department-issued weapons were secured inside the patrol vehicle.

My body-worn camera remained activated throughout the incident, including the investigation, crime scene processing, and transport. The rear-seat camera in my patrol vehicle was also activated during Lidia Archer’s transport to the Spalding County Sheriffs Office.
