On 02/23/2025 at approximately 0334 hours I, Officer Andrade (4030) was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Austin St located in Griffin, Ga, Spalding County, 30223 about a report of an assault that had occurred at 123 N Hill St (Vibes Ultra Lounge). The caller stated that her brother got home late at night with a broken nose and possibly may have been in a physical fight. I responded in non-emergency mode.
Upon arriving with Officer Berry (3962), we met with the caller, [WITNESS #1] (DOB: [REDACTED BY AGENCY]81). She explained that her brother, Morion Richards (DOB: [REDACTED BY AGENCY]79), had come home from a place called Vibes with a broken nose and appeared to be intoxicated. While Ms. [WITNESS #1] was recounting the situation, Mr. Morion emerged, stumbling, and repeatedly demanded that we take him to jail. He then placed his hands behind his back and insisted again that we take him to jail.
I tried to inform Mr. Morion that our purpose here was to understand what happened at Vibes and to ensure he received medical attention from paramedics. However, Mr. Morion began to shout about wanting to go to jail and yelled, “I’m coming after you.” He insisted that he wouldn’t say anything and expressed a desire to be arrested. While Ms. [WITNESS #1] was attempting to explain Mr. Morion’s side of the incident, he started shouting at her, calling her a “snitch” and continuing to yell aggressively “Fu*k you”.
I then placed Mr. Morion under arrest for disorderly conduct and placed him in my patrol vehicle while we waited for EMS to arrive. While waiting on the paramedics Ms. [WITNESS #1] again attempted to calm Mr. Morion but he insisted that he did not want to talk and told Ms. [WITNESS #1] “Fu*k you”.
When EMS arrived Mr. Richard refused to be seen by the paramedics. Mr. Morion was then transported to the Spalding County Jail. While on the way to the jail, Mr. Morion continued to yell at me stating things like “I’m going to shoot you all” and began to yell racial slurs, this was all recorded on my body-worn camera.
Mr. Morion was then released to the Spalding County Jail where he again refused to be seen by jail medical staff.
A uniform citation was completed for Mr. Morion on one charge of disorderly conduct.
