On 08/17/2025 at approximately 0700 hours, I Deputy Willetts, responded in non emergency mode to the area of Marble Ct and Ruby Way in Griffin GA in reference to a suspicious person.

Dispatch advised the caller stated there was a B/F with a red shirt and blue jean shorts knocking on doors in the area and yelling.

Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1](B/F dob /2001) who was sitting on the front porch of a residence located on Ruby Way, wearing a red shirt and blue jeans shorts. [VICTIM #1] stated she was evolved in a domestic dispute with Oquesz Burks(her boyfriend)(B/M dob /2000) and she has been trying to knock and doors to get someone to help her. [VICTIM #1] stated her Burks arrived at Burks house from the club around 0630 hours, and when she tried to go inside his mother told her she could not come in. [VICTIM #1] stated she sat down on the front porch and called someone to come get her.

[VICTIM #1] stated while she was waiting on the porch her and Burks got into a verbal dispute, because he called her 5 year old son who was not on scene gay. [VICTIM #1] stated she told Burks to shut up and not say that about her son, and Burks snapped. [VICTIM #1] stated Burks tried to grab her phone out of her hand because she was texting her childs father. [VICTIM #1] stated when she would not give Burks the phone,he grabbed her by her hair and then punched her in the arm. [VICTIM #1] stated when Burks hit her she got up and went to walk off and Burks began chasing her. [VICTIM #1] stated while running she fell down and when she did Burks kicked her in the stomach. [VICTIM #1] advised she was pregnant, and when Burks kicked her he stated F*ck you and that baby. [VICTIM #1] had visible marks and cuts on her arms where she fell down. EMS arrived on scene to evaluate [VICTIM #1] and her injuries. EMS stated [VICTIM #1] had no major injures, but to follow up with her primary doctor.

At this time, I made contact with Burks who stated nothing physical happened it was only verbal. Burks stated he did not chase [VICTIM #1] he was following her to try and get her to calm down and talk about what happened. Burks stated he grabbed [VICTIM #1] to calm her down.

At this time, Burks was advised he was under arrest for Battery Family Violence. Burks was placed in handcuffs behind his back which were checked for proper fit then double locked and secured. Burks was searched then placed in the backseat of my patrol vehicle which was search before and after he was placed inside. Burks was transported to the Spalding County Detention center where he was turned over to jail staff.

On 08/18/2025 Magistrate Judge Mcdowell signed warrants for Battery on a pregnant women and Criminal trespass damage 3rd degree.
