On 06/14/2026 at approximately 1558 Hours. I PTL Jackson 4084, responded in a non-emergency mode to [REDACTED], which is located within the City of Griffin Spalding County Georgia, to a report of a fight in progress. My department issued worn body camera was activated.

Prior to my arrival, dispatch informed me of a fight in progress occurring at [REDACTED], in which the call taker could be heard yelling and people were stating that someone was being pulled from a car, followed by people yelling for someone to “get off of her.” When I arrived, I spotted two females standing in the roadway in front of [REDACTED] who were identified as Jenkins, Tatianna, and Thurman, Shyanna. I was able to speak with Jenkins from the start while other dispatched officers spoke with the other people involved in the incident.

When I asked Jenkins what had happened, she gave the following statement. She explained that there had been a family dispute between [VICTIM #1], [VICTIM #2], and Thurman Shyanna, and Thurman decided to come to [REDACTED] to address it. Once they arrived, Jenkins stated that Thurman approached [VICTIM #2], whom the dispute was primarily with, and attempted to talk to her. She explained that [VICTIM #2] was in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in her driveway (GA Tag #[REDACTED]) when Thurman approached her to talk, Jenkins then stated that during the conversation, Thurman opened [VICTIM #2]’s door to speak with her further, and [VICTIM #2] threw a punch at Thurman, causing a fight between the two.

I then went to speak with [VICTIM #2] and all other parties involved at [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #2] stated that she was inside the vehicle in her driveway when Jenkins and Thurman showed up. She then stated that Thurman proceeded to walk around to the passenger side of the car, where she was seated, and began arguing with her before opening the door and striking her, causing the fight between the two.

During this time, [VICTIM #2]’s girlfriend, [VICTIM #3], exited the driver’s side of the vehicle, came around, and attempted to stop the fight by standing between them, at which point Thurman struck her as well and broke two of her nails. Both [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #3] also reported that during all of this, 6-year-old [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who is [VICTIM #2]’s daughter, was in the back seat of the vehicle and had to witness this violent act toward her mother. A nearby witness and family member involved in the incident, [VICTIM #1], also confirmed the statements made by [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #3] and stated that Jenkins approached her in an aggressive manner as if she were attempting to fight her as well.

I was then able to speak with Thurman regarding the incident. Thurman gave a similar account of the incident, stating that she had come to the residence to talk with [VICTIM #2] about the ongoing family dispute and had, in fact, opened her door. The only difference in her account was that she claimed [VICTIM #2] threw the first punch, causing the fight. Thurman also stated that while the fight was occurring, a 16-year-old [REDACTED BY AGENCY] came out of the house with a broomstick and struck her on the head and back. I later spoke with [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #3], who informed me that this 16-year-old had only done so while attempting to stop Thurman from attacking [VICTIM #2].

Thurman and Jenkins were the only individuals placed under arrest in this incident based on the totality of the circumstances and the statements obtained from all parties involved. Both Thurman and Jenkins traveled to [VICTIM #2]’s residence to confront her regarding an ongoing family dispute. By Thurman’s own admission, she approached [VICTIM #2] while [VICTIM #2] was seated inside a vehicle in her own driveway and opened the vehicle door prior to the physical altercation. Based on the statements provided by witnesses and involved parties, it was determined that Thurman and Jenkins were the aggressors in the incident. [VICTIM #2], [VICTIM #3], and the other individuals involved were at their residence when confronted and were placed in fear for their safety, and given the presence of [VICTIM #2]’s 6-year-old child, who witnessed the altercation.

Jenkins’ vehicle was turned over to [REDACTED], on scene. Both Jenkins and Thurman were searched incident to arrest before being transported to the Spalding County Jail without incident. Based on the investigation, I will be seeking charges on Thurman for the offenses of Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree, Disorderly Conduct, and Battery. Jenkins will be charged with Disorderly Conduct. [VICTIM #2] showed no signs of injuries and refused medical attention from EMS I would however take photos of [VICTIM #3]’s broken nail and will be uploading the photos to patrol pictures.

Update; On 06/15/2026, I spoke with Judge Parks, who granted charges on Thurman for the offenses of Battery, Disorderly Conduct, and Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree. In addition, Judge Parks also granted a warrant for Jenkins for the offense of Disorderly Conduct.
