On 07/23/2026, around the hours of 0520, I responded in non-emergency mode to [700 BLOCK] Carver Rd Apt. [REDACTED] Griffin, Spalding County, GA, in reference to siblings arguing. My body cam was active during this incident.
Upon my arrival, I noticed a black male wearing a red hoodie and male boxer briefs approaching the [REDACTED] Building. The male appeared to be upset and aggravated. I politely spoke to the subject, and he began asking (yelling) me why I needed to ask him questions; he was in the roadway and didn’t need to answer any questions.
I allowed the male to walk off carrying what appeared to be two trash bags full of clothes, which belonged to his brother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. When he approached [REDACTED BY AGENCY] he pushed the two bags into his arms. This upset [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. The two began yelling at one another. Myself, Ptl. Ramirez and Ptl. Watkins all approached the two and got them separated. Travis continued to yell at his brother. He began walking backwards, yelling at him, calling him names. He then took off his shirt, ready to fight him. I walked behind Travis, telling him to keep walking. This is when he turned around, pointing his finger at my face. I grabbed Travis’s right arm and yelled that he would not be putting his finger in my face. He began pulling away from me as I attempted to place his hands behind his back. Ptl. Watkins then grabbed his left arm. We were able to place Travis in cuffs behind his back, double locked. He was patted down by Ptl. Watkins and placed in the rear of Ptl. Ramirez’s patrol unit.
This incident occurred at 5:30 am. Not the time of day to be yelling inside of an apartment complex in the open parking lot.
Travis was transported to Spalding County Jail, where he was charged with Disorderly conduct. He received a city citation.
