On 02/22/2023 at approximately 0027 hours, I responded in a non emergency mode to [1700 BLOCK] E. Mercer drive, which is located within the City of Griffin Spalding County Georgia, to a report of a fight still in progress. Upon my arrival, I initiated my Department issued Body Worn Camera.

I made contact with Eionna Barnes, who stated that [WITNESS #1] threatened to “beat her a*s” because [WITNESS #1] needed rent money. Barnes stated that she has lived there with her sister ([WITNESS #2]) for over a month now. Barnes stated that [WITNESS #1] allowed her to move into the residence to help Barnes out because [WITNESS #1] knew that Barnes did not want to move to Arizona. Barnes stated that she started to feel as if [WITNESS #1] was taking advantage of Barnes because she was in a desperate situation and she needed a place to reside. She stated that [WITNESS #1] had become money hungry and wanted Barnes and [WITNESS #2] to pay the full rent.

Barnes stated that when she went to talk to [WITNESS #1] about her feeling like [WITNESS #1] was taking advantage of her, and that [WITNESS #1] started becoming irate and yelling at her that she needs to leave the residence.

Barnes stated that she received a text message from [WITNESS #1] that her and Wykeria Sinkfield were going to “beat her a*s” if she was there when they got to the house. Barnes stated that Sinkfield came inside of the house to use the bathroom when she struck Barnes in the right side of the head with her hand. Barnes also stated that Sinkfield then bit her arm and bit skin off of her leg. I asked Barnes if she would like me to get an ambulance enroute, she replied that yes she does want an ambulance, I called for an ambulance to come assess Barnes.

Barnes stated that during the fight she was trying to defend herself by trying to hold onto whatever she could of Sinkfield because she stated that she knew if she let go of Sinkfield that she would have hurt her. Barnes stated that she was screaming for Sinkfield to get off of her.

I observed the right eye of Barnes was swollen as well as a bite mark that I could clearly make out as teeth marks on her right arm, her leg had a bite mark on it that had created a bruise and a small portion of the top layer of the skin was hanging off.

[WITNESS #1] stated that she is moving out of the residence, she also stated that she did send a text message to Barnes stating that she was “going to get a chunk or get a chunk of Barnes a*s, or that she was going to get a tv or something.” Due to the rent had not been paid in so long. [WITNESS #1] stated that Barnes was the aggressor in the altercation, she stated that Sinkfield arrived at the residence to use the bathroom when Barnes started fighting Sinkfield. [WITNESS #1] stated that Barnes pulled the hair of Sinkfield out during the fight.

I observed in the house what appeared to be a teal in color braided section of hair, as well as multiple sections of what appeared to be straight hair in different locations of the living room.

[WITNESS #2] stated that she was laying in her bedroom when she heard the fighting in the living room, she stated that when she exited her bedroom and walked into the living room she observed Barnes and Sinkfield engaged in an altercation, [WITNESS #2] stated that she was trying to break up the fight between Barnes (her sister) and Sinkfield.

Sinkfield stated that she entered the residence to use the bathroom when Barnes started screaming at her, then she stated that Barnes then started hitting her and biting her. When asked initially if she needed an ambulance, Sinkfield refused. Later during the call Sinkfield stated that she did want an ambulance, because she is hurting all over and that she is in stage three Lupus Disease. Sinkfield stated that she was bitten as well as struck multiple times but could not advise where she was struck or bitten. Sinkfield stated that [WITNESS #2] stepped on her during the altercation.

The altercation is biased due to [WITNESS #2] and Barnes being sisters, as well as [WITNESS #1] Sinkfield and [REDACTED] being related. Both sides of the stories are conflicting with each others.

I issued to Sinkfield, City of Griffin Police Department Uniform Citation Form #01342 for City Ordinance Violation 5 8-2(b)(1) Affray (Disorderly conduct)

I issued to Barnes, City of Griffin Police Department Uniform Citation Form #01340 for City Ordinance Violation 58-2(B)(1) Affray (Disorderly Conduct)

I placed Barnes under arrest for City Ordinance Violation 58-2(B)(1) Affray (Disorderly Conduct), Barnes was placed in handcuffs behind her back, double locked and checked for proper fit. She was then placed into my marked patrol car that was checked for contraband before and after transport.

I placed Sinkfield under arrest for City Ordinance Violation 58-2(B)(1) Affray (Disorderly Conduct), Sinkfield was placed in double handcuffs behind her back to ensure that there was no major discomfort. The handcuffs were double locked and checked for proper fit. She was then placed into the back of Ptl. Landis marked patrol car that was checked for contraband before and after transport.

Barnes and Sinkfield were then transported to the Spalding County Detention Center where they were turned over to jail staff without incident.

I returned to service.
