On September 17, 2014, at 2247 hours, I was dispatched in emergency mode to [900 BLOCK] Ray St. Griffin, Spalding County, GA in reference to a shooting.
When I arrived, other officer were already on scene. I taped off the scene so no bystanders could come into the crime scene. I was approached by a bystander, [WITNESS #1] who stated that he saw a black male run down the street towards N 16th and get into a car and went south on N 16th St. [WITNESS #1] informed me that the car was an older model Toyota Camery silver in color. I observed the same vehicle pass as I was on the way to the scene. Sgt. Hayes advised dispatch to have Crime Scene and Investgator to come to the scene.
The first victim was [VICTIM #1] and EMS was attending to him. As I was standing next to the street another victim, [VICTIM #2] came up with a friend, [REDACTED], that was at the scene the time of the shooting. EMS started to attend to [VICTIM #2] who was shot in the knee area. I gathered both parties information.
After EMS was done with [VICTIM #2] I stood by and conducted crowd control so no one would pass the crime scene tape. As I stood by, another victim advised that he had been shot in the foot. The third victim was [VICTIM #3]. Inv. Bales and CSI McClurer came to the scene. I assisted McClurer with her duties. There was a hand gun on the scene and I stood by and secured it until it was photographed and collected. I assisted CSI McClurer with the number placards for the evidence. When McClurer was done with photographing the evidence, I helped her measure for her drawing of the scene.
Once we were done measuring the evidence, I assisted with collecting the evidence by writing down what the evidence was. Once all the evidence was collected, I helped gather equipment and open back up the scene to the public. I turned the investigation to Inv. Bales.
[End of Narrative]
