On Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 1551 hours Corporal (CPL) Gatto along with Sergeant (SGT) Henderson responded to [800 BLOCK] Dewitt Tatum Road, Reidsville, Tattnall County, Georgia in reference to an unwanted person.
Upon arrival to the scene CPL Gatto observed a purple in color mini van occupied by Mrs. [WITNESS #1], Mr. [VICTIM #1] and two young children Juvenile [REDACTED] (4 years old) and Juvenile [REDACTED] (10 months). CPL Gatto observed Ms. Sarah Tolbert who was standing outside the vehicle and appeared to be yelling at the passengers. Ms. Tolbert was throwing her hands in the air while facing the vehicle. CPL Gatto approached Ms. Tolbert and could smell a very strong oder of alcoholic beverage coming from Ms. Tolbert’s person and breath.
Ms. Tolbert was swaying back and forth while standing near the vehicle. CPL Gatto asked Mr. [VICTIM #1] what had taken place and he had stated that Ms. Tolbert was inside the residence and began to become irate. Ms. Tolbert was yelling and stated that he heard Ms. Tolbert state she would put holes in the wall.
According to Mr. [VICTIM #1] he heard a loud bang shortly after and it sounded like Ms. Tolbert was punching the walls. Mr. [VICTIM #1] was unable to verify if there were previous holes in the wall and if so who would have caused the damage. CPL Gatto then began to speak to Mrs. [WITNESS #1] who stated that Ms. Tolbert asked her to come over earlier in the day. According to Ms. [WITNESS #1] she had stated that Ms. Tolbert was asking for alcoholic beverages.
Ms. [WITNESS #1] furthermore stated that Ms. Tolbert approached her vehicle and began to use profanity in front of her children. Mr. [VICTIM #1] recorded a video on his phone of Ms. Tolbert yelling and screaming at the vehicle as well as using profanity. CPL Gatto then approached Ms. Tolbert and asked her what started the incident today and she had stated she did not know, she did not do anything. Furthermore Ms. Tolbert began to speak about physical incidents involving her and her boyfriend as well as Mr. [VICTIM #1]. CPL Gatto asked Ms. Tolbert if she had contacted law enforcement for these particular incidents and she stated NO. CPL Gatto asked Ms. Tolbert how much alcoholic beverages did she consume today and she stated ONE COCKTAIL.
CPL Gatto began to explain that he could smell a very strong oder of alcoholic beverages coming from her breath. Ms. Tolbert proceeded to attempt to walk a straight line as if she was conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST). Ms. Tolbert’s eyes had a glassy appearance. At this time SGT Henderson approached Ms. Tolbert and began to speak to her about the incidents that had taken place.
After SGT Henderson was done speaking with Ms. Tolbert, CPL Gatto placed Ms. Tolbert under arrest and informed her of her charges. While Ms. Tolbert was being placed in the vehicle Ms. Tolbert began to become uncooperative. Once Ms. Tolbert was placed in the back seat of CPL Gatto’s marked patrol vehicle she began to act out by kicking the safety cage.
Ms. Tolbert was advised by CPL Gatto to stop kicking the cage and door or she could potentially face more charges. Ms. Tolbert stated she did not care. While en route to the Tattnall County Jail Ms. Tolbert continued to kick the back of the safety cage. CPL Gatto advised dispatch to notify the jail staff before arrival to assist with removing Ms. Tolbert from the vehicle. Ms. Tolbert was turned over the Tattnall County Jail staff.
