TOOMBS COUNTY, Ga. – A former Toombs County teacher is facing criminal charges after a GBI investigation. On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, GBI agents arrested and charged Chasity Cheyenne Knight, age 25, of Uvalda, GA, with one count of Improper Sexual Contact by Employee, Agent, or Foster Parent; Consent Not a Defense.
The investigation indicates that Knight had a sexual relationship with a student in January of 2024 while employed as a teacher.
On Monday, August 19, 2024, the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI to assist with an investigation into possible sexual abuse by a teacher with students in the Toombs County School District. Police booked Knight into the Toombs County Detention Center.
