TOOMBS COUNTY, Ga. – A Vidalia woman is facing child cruelty and drug possession charges after her 4-year-old child reportedly ingested THC gummies, according to local police.
Officers with the Vidalia Police Department responded to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital last week after receiving a report of a child overdose.
Investigators determined that the child had consumed THC edibles, which led to the hospitalization.
The child’s mother, 41-year-old Tiffany Martin, was arrested in connection with the incident. She faces charges of cruelty to children and possession of a controlled substance.
Authorities said the child was later transferred to a hospital in Savannah and is expected to make a full recovery.
Martin remains in custody at the Toombs County Jail with bond set at $8,000, according to jail records.
