On April 7, 2026, I, Sgt. Floyd, along with Dep. Turner responded to a possible fight involving two parties in a car on Highway 358. The Twiggs County Coroner, [REDACTED] advised he saw two individuals get out of a car fighting near Mt. Zion Church off of Hwy 358 in Twiggs County. The people then left the area in a grey sedan and Mr. [REDACTED] followed them and advised they turned around several times in the Highway before driving down Lucy Chapel Exchange.

Dep. Turner initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle due to seeing the driver and passenger arguing and the knowledge of an altercation recently happening on Hwy 358. I arrived a short time after. After talking with the passenger I noticed a large amount of recent grass stains on the passenger. Dep. Turner requested me talk to the driver and I did. The driver had blood shot eyes and slurred speech with the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person.

While talking with her she admitted to drinking an alcoholic beverage while she was at Stripes, a bowling alley earlier in the evening. She did not know where the bowling alley was and could not advise how long ago she had the alcoholic beverage(s). I asked if she was willing to do standardized field sobriety test and she agreed. The passenger started getting in the roadway and refusing lawful orders to back away from the DUI investigation and was arrested for obstruction by Dep. Turner. The driver was found not safe to drive via SFST and was then arrested for driving under the influence.
