On June 10th, 2026, at approximately 1237 hours, I was field training Deputy Liranzo, when he observed a driver operating a vehicle on Highway 57, without a seat belt and Deputy Liranzo initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.
Deputy Liranzo made contact with the driver and he stated he could smell the odor of suspected marijuana coming from the vehicle. After having the driver step out, I observed the driver have blood shot eyes and when asked she stated she smoked marijuana approximately 2 hours prior to the stop.
After conducting SFST and ARIDE on the driver, I determined the driver was impaired. The driver was read implied consent for blood and transported to Atrium in Macon and GBI blood kit was completed.
The driver was transported back to the Twiggs County LEC and issued citations for driving under the influence, seat belt, windshield tint, window tint (4%), and driving without a license.
