On Friday, January 9, 2026 at approximately 1000 hours, I received a telephone call from [WITNESS #1] who stated she was a social worker with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and they had a patient who had nine fractured ribs and a fractured ankle. I requested the patient’s information and Mrs. [WITNESS #1] provided me with the name [JUVENILE #1] with a DOB of [REDACTED]. Mrs. [WITNESS #1] also provided me with the parent’s information which was [REDACTED] and Taylor Arrington of [700 BLOCK] West Main Street Thomaston, GA 30286.
Mrs. [WITNESS #1] stated [JUVENILE #1] was seen by her pediatrician, [REDACTED], due to the family having the flu. During the visit, Ms. Arrington told the doctor [JUVENILE #1] had been receiving bruises and getting bloody during the night. It is my understanding at the time of this report that [JUVENILE #1] was then referred to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and was taken to that hospital. I do not know how [JUVENILE #1] was transported to the hospital. Mrs. [WITNESS #1] stated [JUVENILE #1] was brought to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on the 7th of January. At this time, this was all the information I was given. I started an incident report and provided Mrs. [WITNESS #1] with the case number.
At approximately 1126 hours, I was contacted by telephone by a DFACS worker from Fayetteville, GA. Her name is [REDACTED]. Mrs. [REDACTED] advised they had received a complaint and she was following up with me about the case. I provided Mrs. [REDACTED] with the limited information I had and talked with her about the process going forward. Mrs. [REDACTED] advised she was going to go to the hospital to check on things and would follow-up with me afterwards.
Shortly after speaking with Mrs. [REDACTED], I spoke with Inv. Cpl. Abbie Hansrote and advised her of the case. After speaking with Inv. Cpl. Hansrote, she collected what information we had and left for the hospital to start the investigation.
This case will be turned over to investigations.
