They Had NO Idea Who They Caught

Four people were murdered across the Atlanta area in 2014. Three of the victims were men who had been sleeping outside, while the fourth was a woman walking back to her car after an evening with friends. The murders appeared to have little in common, until an unexpected arrest at a MARTA train station changed everything. In this episode of **Behind The Headlines**, Joshua John investigates the disturbing case of **Aeman Lovel Presley**, an aspiring actor who became one of Georgia's convicted serial killers. The story begins with **Calvin Gholston**, a 53-year-old man known to his family as Butterball, who was found shot to death outside a shopping center near Stone Mountain, Georgia. Weeks later, two more men, **Dorian Jenkins** and **Tommy Mims**, were discovered murdered on the streets of downtown Atlanta. Investigators began noticing disturbing similarities between the shootings, including unusual ammunition that could help connect the cases. Then, on December 6, 2014, **Karen Pearce**, a 44-year-old hairstylist and nursing student, was fatally shot near a parking garage in downtown Decatur. As detectives worked to solve the murders, an ordinary MARTA fare-evasion arrest would lead investigators to a suspect they hadn't expected to find. How did police connect four seemingly separate murders? What did investigators discover about the man responsible? And how did a routine encounter at a train station help bring an end to the killings? Join us as we examine the victims, the investigations, the evidence, and the arrest of Aeman Presley in this Georgia true crime documentary. **Behind The Headlines** brings you true crime stories, murder investigations, cold cases, and criminal justice stories from across Georgia.
