On 03/29/2026, at approximately 1909 hours, I, Officer Haley, responded to [500 BLOCK] E Villanow St, Apartment [REDACTED], in reference to a warrant service on an Alyssa Leger for Simple Battery FVA.
Upon arrival, I made contact with Leger. She immediately stated that she did not have a warrant for her arrest. While officers were speaking with her on the porch, one of her children came outside and asked if she was going to jail. Leger told her child that if we tried to arrest her today, “it would not be good.”
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office was then contacted to confirm the warrant. Walker County Sheriff’s Office advised the warrant for Leger was valid and in hand. After confirmation, I approached Leger with my handcuffs out and told her to come to me so I could place her under arrest. I grabbed Leger’s left wrist and attempted to turn her around. Leger stated she needed to call her mom first and mentioned that her kids were there. This is when Leger began resisting arrest, where I kept trying to turn Leger around, where she then kept walking forward away from me which made it difficult to turn her around. I then gave Leger instructions to turn around so I could secure her in handcuffs.
As I continued attempting to turn Leger around to place her hands behind her back, she started stiffening up and jerking her left arm in an attempt to prevent me from handcuffing her. I was able to secure one cuff on her left wrist, but she continued resisting. Sgt. Smith stepped in to assist and grabbed her right wrist, attempting to bring it behind her back. Leger stiffened her arm and would not allow him to place it behind her.
At that point, Leger began yelling, “No! Hell the fu*k no!” and started jerking her arms toward the front of her body while we were actively trying to place them behind her back. She also pushed herself forward, making it difficult for us to maintain control and safely place her into custody. Leger continued yelling profanities and actively resisting our efforts.
Due to her continued resistance, Sgt. Smith and I had to use a significant amount of strength to overcome her actions. After a brief struggle, we were eventually able to regain control and place both handcuffs on her.
Because of Leger’s violent resistance and tumultuous manner, the situation quickly became a spectacle for other residents in the apartment complex. Several people came outside, including children, who were present while she was yelling profanities and causing a disturbance.
Once secured, I placed Leger in the rear of my patrol vehicle after her mother, [REDACTED], arrived on scene and stayed with the children. Leger was then transported to the Walker County Detention Center without further incident and turned over to detention staff. I signed and executed the Simple Battery FVA warrant (Warrant #W26030129). Leger was booked on Obstruction of Officers (OCGA 16-10-24) and Disorderly Conduct (OCGA 16-11-39).
A copy of the warrant is attached.
