On 02/11/2026 at approximately 2248 hours, I, Sergeant Hunt responded to [700 BLOCK] Patterson Road Apartment [REDACTED] LaFayette, Ga in reference to a domestic. Walker County Dispatch advised they could overhear two females arguing in the background of the phone.

I arrived on scene and was met by listed complainant/victim (juvenile female [VICTIM #1]) in the parking lot. Upon initial observation Officer Haven and I observed bruising around [VICTIM #1] neck, that appeared to be strangulation marks, and was advised by [VICTIM #1] her stepmother, listed offender/arrested (Elizabeth Collins) was arguing with her and choked her.

I advised Officer Haven to continue to speak with [VICTIM #1] and I attempted to make contact with Elizabeth. I made my way to the apartment and was let in by listed witness ([WITNESS #1]) [VICTIM #1] father and asked about what he observed.

[WITNESS #1] advised his wife Elizabeth was arguing with his daughter [VICTIM #1] because she accused [VICTIM #1] of exchange vape products with [WITNESS #1]’s son, listed witness (juvenile male [WITNESS #2]). Elizabeth suspected [VICTIM #1] was lying about the matter and grew argumentative, exchanging words back and forth with [VICTIM #1].

Elizabeth grew agitated more and more with [VICTIM #1] as she was yelling continuously at [VICTIM #1] to tell the truth and stop lying. Elizabeth temper grew to the point she backed [VICTIM #1] against the front door of the apartment and pushed her against the door and pinned her arms.

[WITNESS #1] advised he attempted to separate the party at one point by getting in between [VICTIM #1] and Elizabeth. [WITNESS #1] advised Elizabeth had picked up a blue in color tumbler drink bottle and attempted to throw it at [VICTIM #1] until [WITNESS #1] intervened.

While [VICTIM #1] was against the door, it can be seen Elizabeth approaches [VICTIM #1] raises her arm to her and then began walking away while still yelling at [VICTIM #1]. The incident was recorded during a video a call between [WITNESS #2] and [VICTIM #1] when Elizabeth came to them about the swapping of vape products.

It can be observed in the video of other issues contributing towards Elizabeth rift between the family and herself. The conversation and complaints seemed to be understood as alleged neglect towards the stepchildren ([VICTIM #1], [WITNESS #2], and another juvenile child).

While on scene Elizabeth continued to interject while I was speaking with [WITNESS #1]. Elizabeth advised she was trying to put clothing on but was still trying to yell and scream at [WITNESS #1] or [WITNESS #2] who was still on the phone call.

As Elizabeth continued to interject and interfered with my investigation by speaking over [WITNESS #1] or interrupting to make her own statement. Upon her re-entering the living room while I attempted to speak with [WITNESS #1], for a third time, Elizabeth was placed in handcuffs behind the back.

Officer Haven escorted Elizabeth to his patrol vehicle, where she was secured in the rear passenger seat of Officer Haven’s patrol vehicle. I was able to gather the facts and circumstances for the case. Elizabeth was transported to Walker County Detention by Officer Haven.

Elizabeth was turned over and accepted by Walker County Detention staff. Elizabeth is charged with Aggravated Assault- Family Violence as she intentionally placed her hand(s) around [VICTIM #1] throat and applied pressure in an attempt to restrict her airflow and cut off her ability to breathe. Elizabeth is charged with simple assault- Family Violence as she attempted to commit a violent injury to [VICTIM #1] by picking up a metal tumbler cup and attempting to cause harm to [VICTIM #1]. Elizabeth is charged with cruelty to children in the 2nd degree- Family Violence, as she caused [VICTIM #1] excessive physical and mental pain by placing her hand(s) around [VICTIM #1] throat in an attempt to restrict [VICTIM #1] ability to breathe.

[VICTIM #1] was provided a Family Crisis card and advised to contact as soon as possible.
