[NARRATIVE #1 on February 16, 2026]

On 02/16/2026 around 0306 Hours, I Officer Couch observed a blue Honda Civic bearing GA tag [REDACTED] in the parking lot with a busted rear window. The vehicle had been on location since last date and did not have any busted windows.

Upon further investigation, a rock was seen on the back seat with glass fragments inside of the car and next to the car on the ground. Both doors were locked and the vehicle did not appeared to be entered.

Dispatch contacted WCSO to have a deputy go to the registered owners (RO) residence to make contact due to the RO not answering his cell phone. [VICTIM #1] arrived and stated his son left the car there the night before to get a ride with a friend and stay at his house. [VICTIM #1] did not have a spare key at the time of arrival and advised he would contact his son to get the car. [VICTIM #1] stated nothing else appeared damaged and no items appeared to be taken.

Around 2234 Hours, I was parked at Graystone Church working on a report when a person of interest/suspect (Jeremiah Rosenberger) who was arrested the night before for disorderly conduct was seen walking from the direction of Quality Inn and walked behind my patrol vehicle towards Golden Pantry. He was the only person seen by officers walking nearby throughout the night. He was seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants and tan ankle high lace up boots.

Officer Herron went and checked at Quality Inn to see if he had a room to stay and the clerk confirmed he was staying in room [REDACTED].

Graystone Church has a camera on the front of the building which could possibly have the incident on camera.

[NARRATIVE #2 on February 16, 2026]

On February 16, 2026 at approximately 1254 hours I, Sergeant Silverberg, responded to 802 North Broad Street (Quality Inn) in reference to a dispute.

Upon my arrival I was informed by staff that a male identified as Jeremiah Rosenberger had checked out of his room and was refusing to leave the property. Mr. Rosenberger was sitting on the steps that lead to the top floor of the hotel. I asked him for his identification and he stated that he was confused.

I explained to Mr. Rosenberger that staff has requested he leave the property due to being checked out and for breaking rules of the property. I ran his information through dispatch and was informed that he had an active warrant out of Ohio but they would not extradite him. I then asked Mr. Rosenberger what his plan was and he stated he was trying to get to a Greyhound station so he could go to Arkansas. I explained to him that if he was going to buy a bus ticket I could take him to Taylors where he could get on a bus later this evening.

I then asked him if all the stuff in the lobby area as far as bags and items were his. He stated they were. I went inside and began picking up his items. One of the items was a Dell Chromebook assigned to an [VICTIM #2] through the Walton County School District. Another item was a blue folder also belonging to [VICTIM #2].

Due to a recent damage to property that occurred at Greystone Church Corporal Jones looked up the case to see the names involved in it. The registered owner had the last name of [VICTIM #1]. At this time I placed Mr. Rosenberger in handcuffs behind his back. The cuffs were double locked and checked for fit. He was then placed in the backseat of my patrol vehicle.

Contact was made with the registered owner [VICTIM #1] and asked about his vehicle being damaged. He was asked if his son would have been missing a chromebook from the vehicle and he said that he would have been.

It was explained to Mr. [VICTIM #1] that a few items belonging were recovered. He then explained that he had spoke with someone at the church and was able to get video of the person breaking into his vehicle. He described the person as a male wearing all black which matched the clothing of Mr. Rosenberger. It was explained to Mr. [VICTIM #1] that he could pick up the belongings later in the evening if hed like.

At this time I read Mr. Rosenberger his Miranda warning. He waived his rights and wished to speak. Before being able to ask any questions he stated that items were placed in front of his door that did not belong to him. I explained to him that he was on camera breaking into the vehicle. He stated that was false and that the items were just placed in front of his door. It was explained to him that he was being charged with entering auto.

Mr. Rosenberger was transported to the Monroe Police Department where he was fingerprinted. A warrant for entering auto was taken. The items will be turned over to the owner later this date.

The backseat of my patrol vehicle was searched prior to and after transport. No contraband was located.
