On November 20, 2025 at approximately 1516 hours I, Sergeant Silverberg, responded to [100 BLOCK] Norris Street in reference to a violent domestic. The caller stated that her daughter was being held at gun point. Sergeant Rutledge arrived to the area of Norris Street while I was en route and advised dispatch that he could not find the numeric on Norris Street. Dispatch called the complainant back and the complainant advised that the correct address was [100 BLOCK] West Marable Street.

Upon my arrival to [100 BLOCK] West Marable Street I did not observe any arguing. I knocked on the door and it was answered by a white female who stated everything was ok. Corporal Jones observed a female knocking on an apartment at [100 BLOCK] West Marable Street. The female made a comment “your mom called to Police”.

I went to the apartment with Corporal Jones and Sergeant Rutledge where a black female was standing in the door way. She was given the order to exit the residence. Another black female was sitting in a chair in the kitchen crying. We were able to clear the residence and that is when I spoke with the female in the kitchen who was identified as [VICTIM #1].

I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] what happened and she stated that on the previous night her girlfriend, Shynitta Taylor, began arguing with her. As She began explaining why she started to cry. I asked if she wanted to step out back to talk and she stated she did. I once again asked her to explain what happened. She again stated that the previous night when she got home Ms. Taylor began arguing with her because she wasn’t answering Ms. Taylors phone calls.

On this date she stated that the arguing continued and turned physical. She stated that Ms. Taylor began assaulting her eventually pulling her across the floor by her hair. The arguing continued and Ms. Taylor went to the bedroom and came back to the living room area with a gun. She stated that Ms. Taylor cocked the gun and began pointing it at her. She kept telling Ms. Taylor to put the gun down and Ms. Taylor made a statement along the lines of “you’re gonna die today”. She stated that Ms. Taylor eventually put the gun on the floor of the living room and then put it in a bag in the bedroom. I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] if she had called anyone during this time who may have heard anything. She stated that her friend, [WITNESS #1], kept calling her phone which Ms. Taylor had taken.

During the argument Ms. Taylor answered Ms. [WITNESS #1] but would not let Ms. [VICTIM #1] speak to her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Ms. [WITNESS #1] may have heard her yelling about putting the gun down. I asked if she could call Ms. [WITNESS #1] so I could speak with her and she stated she would.

Ms. [WITNESS #1] answered the phone and I explained who I was. I asked her if she had called Ms. [VICTIM #1] recently and if so what happened. She stated that she had called Ms. [VICTIM #1] a couple times to check on her. The last time she called a female answered the phone. She asked if she could talk to Ms. [VICTIM #1] and the female would not let her. The female kept saying she’s fine and that she does not want to talk right now. She stated that she then heard Ms. [VICTIM #1] screaming to put the gun away and why are you pointing that at me. Ms. [WITNESS #1] became concerned for the safety of Ms. [VICTIM #1] so she called Ms. [VICTIM #1] mother to tell her what was happening.

I was informed by Sergeant Rutledge that the gun was in an opened duffle bag in the bedroom and the gun was in plain view. I spoke with Sergeant Choy and Sergeant Reynolds via cell phone to confirm if a search warrant was needed or not. Due to the gun being used in a crime and in plain view I was advised to take custody of the gun for evidence purposes. The gun is a Taurus G2c 9mm serial number AEA005265

Ms. Taylor was taken into custody for aggravated assault as well as having an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction.

A warrant will be secured on Ms. Taylor for aggravated assault. The gun was placed in evidence.
