On 04-04-2026, I, Sgt. Robert Butler was dispatched to the Washington County Emergency Room in reference to a report of domestic abuse that occurred on Matthews Road in Tennille Ga.
Upon arrival, I made contact with the ER Nurse RN [WITNESS #1]. Nurse [WITNESS #1] stated that a patient [VICTIM #1] had come to the ER for a thyroid condition and a report of a domestic abuse incident that had occurred in her neck area.
I made contact with the complainant [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that last night after 10:00 pm she and her husband Anthony Strawbridge had gotten into a verbal argument at their residence of [800 BLOCK] Matthews Road, Tennille Ga. The verbal argument turned physical by Ms. [VICTIM #1] taking her husband’s alcoholic drink and throwing it into his face, Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised that Mr. Strawbridge was intoxicated. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that her husband then choked her with both of his hands around her neck, and he said that he would kill her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that both parties separated and she slept on the couch and he slept in their bedroom. Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s adult daughter [REDACTED] was in the residence and heard the verbal argument but did not witness the physical assault.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she did not want her husband arrested due both of them working at the Georgia Department of Transportation and her husband getting close to retirement and him losing his job but wanted the incident documented. I took photographs of where Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Strawbridge had placed his hands around her neck and choked her. I could see visible red marks on her neck with the red marks on the right side of her neck that appeared to be scratch marks from a possible fingernail(s).
A medical release form was signed by Ms. [VICTIM #1] for investigation purposes to review the medical records.
Major Trey Burgamy was notified of the incident and requested for me to photograph any visible injuries and for me to obtain the medical release form. I also advised Ms. [VICTIM #1] that Major Burgamy would be making contact with her and the incident would have to be investigated due to the complaint and law enforcement being notified.

ANTHONY STROWBRIDGE ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT FVA
What this means: Anthony Strowbridge was arrested and booked into custody in Washington County on a charge of Aggravated Assault Family Violence Act (FVA). This is a felony offense, meaning it carries the possibility of more than one year in prison if convicted. At this stage, Strowbridge is only accused of this offense — no guilt has been determined. The preliminary arraignment form indicates he was not represented by an attorney at the time of his initial appearance before the magistrate.

SURETY BOND EXECUTED — $27,500 BOND POSTED FOR ANTHONY STROWBRIDGE
What this means: A surety bond in the amount of $27,500 was executed through the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on behalf of Anthony Strowbridge, with a surety signing on as financial guarantor. This bond was filed in Washington County and secured Strowbridge’s release from custody while his case in Washington County Superior Court proceeds. A surety bond means a third party — in this case an individual listed as surety — agreed to be financially responsible if Strowbridge fails to appear in court as required. The bond paperwork notes that Strowbridge is scheduled to appear at the Washington County Courthouse, and that all notices will be mailed to the address on file.

BOND ORDER ISSUED WITH CONDITIONS — CASE NO. SUWR2026000083
What this means: Along with setting bond, the Washington County Magistrate Court issued a bond order placing specific conditions on Anthony Strowbridge’s release. Those conditions include: remaining on general good behavior and not violating any federal, state, or local law or ordinance; providing a permanent residence and/or mailing address to the court upon release; and promptly appearing in court when his case is called for arraignment, trial, or any other hearings or court proceedings. Failure to appear in court as required may result in a bench warrant being issued for Strowbridge’s arrest. Strowbridge signed the bond order on 4/15/26, acknowledging these conditions.
