On April 11, 2023 at 2335 hrs. I, Officer M. Ivey, was dispatched to the area of Sunhill Rd. in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival in the area I made contact with [VICTIM #1] on the side of the road near [700 BLOCK] Sunhill Rd.

The complainant, [WITNESS #1], was on scene and stated that Mr. [VICTIM #1] was beating on the door of his residence and stating that he needed help.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] was visibly intoxicated and had a strong smell of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Mr. [VICTIM #1] was slurring his words and stated that his brother, Anitito Swint, had struck him in the head and face with a beer bottle and then struck him in the head with his fist. Mr. [VICTIM #1] had a superficial abrasion to the left side of his head above his left ear, a minor abrasion to his left cheek, swelling to his left cheek bone, and severe swelling to the left jaw under his left ear.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that him and Mr. A. Swint were picking on each other and it escalated to Mr. A. Swint assaulting him. EMS was dispatched to the scene. After assessing Mr. [VICTIM #1], EMS then transported him to the ER for xrays of the jaw and further treatment. I then reported to [700 BLOCK] Alfred C. Carson Dr. and made contact with Mr. A. Swint. Mr. A. Swint was also visibly intoxicated with a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. Mr. A. Swint was also slurring his words and stated that him and Mr. [VICTIM #1] had an argument but nothing physical happened.

Shortly after stating that Mr. A. Swint stated that Mr. [VICTIM #1] was wrong for calling the police on him for hitting Mr. [VICTIM #1] in the face. Mr. A. Swint also stated that they were family and that’s just what family does sometimes. Both Mr. [VICTIM #1] and A. Swint were both highly intoxicated and could not clarify if the assault took place outside the residence of [700 BLOCK] Alfred C. Carson Dr. or somewhere on Sunhill Rd.

I then placed Mr. A. Swint under arrest for Aggravated Assault. I handcuffed Mr. A. Swint to the rear, checked for fit, and double locked the handcuffs. I pat searched Mr. A. Swint for any weapons and then placed him in the rear of my patrol car. I escorted Mr. A. Swint to the Sandersville Police Department for fingerprints and booking. I then escorted Mr. A. Swint to the Washington County LEC and turned him over to the on duty jail staff.

Pictures were taken of Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s injuries. A warrant was taken out for Mr. A. Swint for Aggravated Assault FVA (O.C.G.A. 16-5-21). I then went back in service.
