On 01/29/2025 at approximately 1648 hours officers were dispatched to Circle K and Krystals in reference to a hit and run. Upon arrival, officers made contact with [VICTIM #1] who stated that he was traveling Westbound on GA 38 E in the left lane when a red Toyota Camry came from the right lane and struck his vehicle. [VICTIM #1] stated that the Camry got back into the right lane and continued traveling westbound.
[VICTIM #1] stated that he was able to get the attention of the driver of the red Camry, Andrea Stewart, and informed her that she hit his vehicle. [VICTIM #1] stated that Stewart pulled into the parking of Circle K and Krystal’s and continued through the parking lot leaving the scene of the accident. After speaking with [VICTIM #1] he informed officers he did not want a report completed at this time. [VICTIM #1] called law enforcement while traveling home to notify them he located the vehicle at Alec’s Sports Bar parking lot. Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle unoccupied at this time.
While speaking to possible witnesses on the scene of the vehicle, The driver (Stewart) walked up on scene. I spoke with Stewart and she informed me she left because she thought the male [VICTIM #1] was following her. Stewart also stated that she did not know that she hit the vehicle. I gathered all the information necessary to complete an accident report and provided [VICTIM #1] with a case card and case number. I then placed Stewart under arrest in double locked handcuffs for leaving the scene of an accident and transported her to the Wayne CDC. Once at the jail, Stewart was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident (Citation # 557900800) and released to jail staff for booking.
