[NARRATIVE #1 on October 13, 2025]
On arrival, I met with the reporting party/mother of the victim, [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated her daughter, [VICTIM #1], had been disrespectful towards her and her husband James Lemmonds. James proceeded to paddle [VICTIM #1] for being disrespectful. [VICTIM #1] then ran out of the house and hid beside the shed in the yard to get away. [WITNESS #1] got in her vehicle and began looking for [VICTIM #1]. Once [WITNESS #1] found [VICTIM #1] and got her in the vehicle, she wanted to take her to her mothers house but James refused to let her do so.
[WITNESS #1] returned to the house where James met them in the driveway. [WITNESS #1] stated James approached the passenger side of the vehicle, opened the door, grabbed [VICTIM #1] by the front of the shirt, and drug her out of the vehicle, to the ground. James then grabbed [VICTIM #1] by the left wrist, yanked her off the ground, and shoved her towards the house, causing her to fall on the porch due to the stairs. James proceeded to grab [VICTIM #1] by the hair and forcefully push her into the house. [VICTIM #1]’s brother, [REDACTED], was present inside the residence and heard the incident while it was occurring.
[VICTIM #1] had markings/bruises on the following areas: left forearm, right side of face, upper back above bra line, buttocks, and both knees.
[WITNESS #1] advised deputies James was still at the house and was talking about leaving. Both deputies proceeded to the residence to ensure we were able to take him into custody. When we arrived at the residence, I knocked on the door and announced Sheriff’s Office. James answered the door and I asked him to step outside, he complied. I then asked him to turn around and place his hands behind his back, he complied. I secured James in handcuffs, checked for fit, and double locked them.
I searched James incident to arrest. I escorted him to my patrol vehicle, checked before and after transport for contraband, it was clear, and instructed James to get in the vehicle. I transported James to the Wayne County Jail without incident and released custody to jail staff. Deputy Chandler took possession of a firearm at the residence due to James being a convicted felon.

[NARRATIVE #2 on October 13, 2025]
On 10/13/2025 I was dispatched to the Dollar General in Odum in reference to a domestic dispute.
I arrived and Deputy Evans stated that [VICTIM #1] was assaulted by James Lemmonds her step father. The mother of [VICTIM #1], [WITNESS #1] showed us a video of James snatching [VICTIM #1] off the ground and grabbing her by the hair to push her into the residence. Deputy Evansand myself went to the residence located at [1200 BLOCK] Roberson Road where Deputy Evans placed James under arrest and transported him to the Wayne County Jail.
I returned back to Dollar General and [WITNESS #1] advised that he is a felon and there was a loaded firearm in the residence. I then followed [WITNESS #1] back to the residence located at [1200 BLOCK] Roberson Road where I located an Assault Rifle that had no serial numbers and had 7.62×39 ammunition in the magazine which was in the mag well of the rifle but there was not a round chambered.
Criminal History was ran for James Lemmonds and it showed that he became a convicted felon 02/06/2015.
Rifle was taken for evidence and a warrant for Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon will be filed.
