Botanas Regis, located at 4111 S Dixie Hwy in Dalton, received a score of 65 points out of a possible 100 points during their 04/30/2026 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The violations noted by the inspector were:

Violation #1:
2-1B – hands clean and properly washed
511-6-1.03(5)(c) – when to wash (p)

Inspector Notes: Observed food handler re-using the same gloves. Food handler took off gloves delivered the food order and then put on the same gloves that they were using prior. I observed no hand washing at all during the time of the inspection. Ensure all food handlers wash their hands when handling food and prior to putting on gloves.

2-2D – adequate handwashing facilities supplied & accessible
511-6-1.07(3)(a) – handwashing cleanser, availability (pf)

Inspector Notes: Observed both hand sinks with no soap or paper towels. Ensure hand washing sinks are stocked with soap and paper towels at all times so food handlers can wash hands.

4-2B – food-contact surfaces: cleaned & sanitized
511-6-1.05(6)(n) – manual and mechanical warewashing equipment, chemical sanitization-temperature, ph, concentration, hardness (p,pf)

Inspector Notes: Observed no sanitizer on facility. Food and non-food contact surfaces have not been sanitized. Ensure to have sanitizer and to use wash, rinse, sanitize method when cleaning food contact surfaces. Will be back next week to ensure there is sanitizer at the facility.

6-1A – proper cold holding temperatures

Inspector Notes: Observed several items out of temperature in reach-in cooler/ fridge including: Lettuce at 50F, Rice at 53F, Raw steak at 45F, Ambient at 42F, Hard shelled eggs at 42F, Raw steak at 46F. Make sure TCS foods are 41F or below. All items moved into working RIC. Will return to make sure RIC has been fixed. Observed multiple items out at room temperature including: tomatoes at 52F, Lettuce at 53F, and Carne Asada at 110F. Do not leave TCS food items out at room temperature. Informed person in charge to either hot or cold hold food items at all times and to not leave items at room temperature.

Inspector Notes: Observed multiple items with no date marking. Ensure to date mark items as soon as food is prepared or when opening a food product. Items have a 7 day discard date the first date the product is opened/ prepared counts as day 1 of the seven days. Ensure all products are date marked to keep record of when to discard food items.

12C – wiping cloths: properly used and stored
