On 2/6/2025 at approximately 0027 hours I self-dispatched to a motor vehicle hit and run crash at S Hamilton St and Industrial Blvd. Information provided was a gray Ford Truck had hit a passenger car and left North on Hamilton St. The truck had heavy damage to the front end.

As I was going to the location of the crash I heard Officer Murdoch state over the radio he was stopping a truck matching the description provided. Officers Cruz and Akins had stopped out with him. I was informed he was possibly under the influence of alcohol. They conducted standard field sobriety test. I was told that there were open containers found in the truck. Officer Murdoch sent me a photograph of the front of the truck. I later uploaded that picture into this report. Refer to their supplements for details of the test and conversations they had with the driver. The driver was identified as Christian Barrett. The truck was a 2021 Ford F150 bearing Georgia tag [REDACTED]. S & M Towing towed the truck. He was transported to Whitfield County Jail. I was told he refused the state test of his breath. He then refused to sign the Georgia department of driver services administrative licenses suspension form.

I arrived to the location were the other vehicles the were involved. It was determined he struck a passenger vehicle in the rear pushing it about 500 ft. After hitting the passenger vehicle, he went around that vehicle and struck a commercial truck and trailer in the rear. Refer to the GEARS crash report for details of the other vehicles and drivers. I also took some photographs of the damage to these vehicle and debris in the road way. When the tow truck arrived, I took a piece of the front grill I got from the ground and it matched the grill to the truck. I also noticed that the Ford emblem from the grill was gone. I did not see it at first. I went to the area on the north side of the intersection where one of the drivers of the other vehicle said he had stopped and I found the Ford emblem on the ground. I took a photograph of this as well and later uploaded it.

Christian was issued the following citations and was given a copy of the form he refused to sign.

-Citations:
560278 for following to close
560279 for following to close
560280 for DUI alcohol less safe
