I was stationary at the Varnell Pavillion parking lot on highway 2 and highway 201 on this date and time. I noticed a vehicle pull into the parking lot and park in front of my patrol vehicle. I noticed a woman stepping out of her vehicle and I did the same. She approached me distrated and advised that she had just been attacked.
I immediately noticed a trail of blood running down her face, coming from an open wound on her forehead. I also noticed she had a bruise on her hair line and two red swelled spots on her nose and right cheek. She advised that her family had just attacked her and took her phone. I advised Whitfield County of my location and the calls nature. I also requested for EMS and another unit to be enroute. She advised that she had returned home to her residence, which was [300 BLOCK] Varnell Cedar Street, and was going to give her two year old son a bath in her parents bathroom. The son was located in the back seat of her vehicle at that time.
She advised that her mother, who is Connie Pittman, entered the room and started agruing with her about the juvenile taking a bath in her bathroom. She advised while she was heading upstairs her mother was telling her that she was going to get evicted soon. While continuing upstair she advised that she heard her father, who is Paul Pittman, state “we can evict you, but that doesn’t mean I can’t give you a fat lip.” She advised that she returned downstairs and her mother reengaged the argument. She then started recording the altercation and her father got in her face. She advised that he went behind her back and turned the lights off.
She advised that when the lights were turned off her mother started to attack her. She advised that she fought back stricking her mother on the lip. She then advised that when her and her mother were done fight and separated, her sister, who is Brittney Pittman, then attacked her. She advised that her sister tackled her and placed her in a headlock. She stated “she was choking me”. She advised that her sister then threw her to the floor and started stricking her. She advised that her (juvenile) son was present during the entire altercation. When her sister released her she got up, retrieved her child and left. She advised that before she left her mother had her phone and stated she was “busting the hell out of my phone” on a door knob.
While we were waiting for EMS and Whifield County deputies were advised by Whitfield County dispatch of a domestic call at Ms. [VICTIM #1]s residence. I notified dispatch that I was with one of the parties related to that call. I then took photos of her injuries and sent them to my work email.
She advised that she was on the phone with her fiance, who is [WITNESS #1], during the incident. I then had dispatch attempt to contact Mr. [WITNESS #1] with the number she provided and was unsuccessful. She advised that she was hurt and frightened during the altercation. EMS and the deputies then arrived. She refused medical treatment and went to her cousin’s residence, [100 BLOCK] Varnell Cedar Street.
I and the other deputies then went to [300 BLOCK] Varnell Cedar Street.
When I approached the residence I was waived to come inside by Mr. Pittman. When I entered I found him, Mrs. Pittman and Brittney Pittman standing at the front room. Mr. Pittan advised that Mrs. Pittman and [VICTIM #1] were in a physical altercation. Mrs. Pittman advised that her daughter [VICTIM #1] returned home and started an argument that lead into a physical altercation. I noticed at that time that Mrs. Pittman’s bottom lip had a laceration and had been bleeding. When asked if she needed medical treatment she refused.
I walked into the living room where the physical altercation had occurred. I noticed a large clock laying on the ground and a flower pot in the kitchen had fallen with dirt scattered around it. When asked how the altercation came to be, Mr. Pittman advised that [VICTIM #1] came home and took her son to their bathroom to give him a bath. He advised that Mrs. Pittman went in after them to inform [VICTIM #1] that she could not use their bath.
Mrs. Pittman advised that [VICTIM #1] then went upstair cursing at her, then came back downstairs and started recording them. She advised that’s when it escalated and it became physical. Mr. Pittman advised that he walked passed [VICTIM #1] blocking the camera’s view with his hand. He advised that [VICTIM #1] claimed that he struck her and he stated to me “I never even made contact, none what so ever.” He advised that after he passed her he turned around and saw Mrs. Pittman and her in a physical altercation.
Ms. Brittney Pittman advised that she heard the altercation downstairs and went to investigate. She advised that when she went to were the altercation was happening she saw [VICTIM #1] and Mrs. Pittman separated. She advised that she saw blood on Mrs. Pittman at that time. She then stated “I grabbed my sister and I put her in a headlock and I put her on the ground.” She advised that she did not strike [VICTIM #1] but, only placed her in a headlock.
Mrs. Pittman advised that Brittney was attempting to deescalate the situation after the physical altercation had occurred. Mr. Pittman advised that Brittney detained [VICTIM #1] to prevent another physical altercation. Brittney confirmed what Mr. And Mrs. Pittman had said to be accurate. Brittney then demonstrated how she placed [VICTIM #1] in the headlock.
When asked what key point started the physical altercation Mrs. Pittman stated “I don’t know all I, all I remember is going towards the kitchen, I was going into the kitchen and next thing I know we were brawling.” She advised that she did grab [VICTIM #1]’s hair but, [VICTIM #1] was the only one who was striking during the altercation. She advised when the clock fell she fell on top of it and [VICTIM #1] hopped on top of her. She advised that [VICTIM #1] did have blood on her forehead and believed to have originated from he lacerated lip.
I then took photos of Mrs. Connie Pittman’s face.
I then had dispatch call [VICTIM #1]’s phone in order to see if it was at that residence. I did not hear a phone ring while I waited at that time. Dispatch advised that they were sent straight to voicemail two times.
Mr. [WITNESS #1] then arrived and I met him in the driveway. He advised that he was on the phone when the altercation was verbal but, did not hear it when it became physical. He advised that [VICTIM #1] told him enreguards to her phone that “her mom busted it, trying to destroy the video evidence.”
I went back inside the residence in search of the phone and found it under the coach next to where the physical altercation had occurred. When the phone was located it was turned off. I turned it on and found that the battery was in the yellow and the lock screen was of [VICTIM #1] and Mr. [WITNESS #1]. The phone had received damages towards its side in the middle and towards its screen in the middle.
We relocated to [100 BLOCK] Varnell Cedar Street where Ms. [VICTIM #1] was located.
I then returned [VICTIM #1]’s phone to her and she advised that she did not turn her phone off before leaving residences. She then show the video of the altercation to me.
The video showed her (juvenile) son standing next to her and Mr. Pittman walking past open palm stricking her hand that was holding the phone. The video then turned towards Mrs. Pittman walking towards [VICTIM #1] then turned away. As it turned away you can hear a struggle and [VICTIM #1] stating “get the f*ck off me” approximately two seconds after showing Mrs. Pittman. In the video [VICTIM #1] then sent the video to my work email.
I returned to [300 BLOCK] Varnell Cedar Street with Mr. [WITNESS #1] and he retrieved [VICTIM #1]’s belongings.
I then placed Mr. Pittman, Mrs. Pittman and Ms. Brittney Pittman under arrest. I read the miranda rights to all three and they refused. All three were then transported to the Whitfield County jail.
