On June 21, 2026, at approximately 10:11 p.m., Deputy E. Garcia, Deputy C. Cole, and Deputy T. Deaver of the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, while performing their patrol duties, responded to the residence located at [REDACTED] to meet with the reporting party, [VICTIM #1], regarding a domestic dispute incident. During this event, Deputy E. Garcia served as the primary investigating officer, while Deputy C. Cole and Deputy T. Deaver served as secondary officers and provided assistance as needed.

Prior to arriving at the designated address, the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center (Dispatch) advised that [VICTIM #1] reported being involved in a physical altercation with another male, while a juvenile on scene, later identified as Juvenile 1.

Dispatch advised that [VICTIM #1] stated he was leaving the location to calm down the situation and would be waiting for deputies at the gas station located at Cleveland Highway and Maresca Drive. Dispatch advised that [VICTIM #1] reported that he had gone to his parents’ residence for a family reunion when a male, later identified as [WITNESS #1], became physical with him. Dispatch advised that [VICTIM #1] stated that his sister, later identified as Erika Fabiola Bucio, struck his wife, later identified as [VICTIM #2], as well as Juvenile 1.

Deputy E. Garcia advised Dispatch that he would meet with [VICTIM #1] at the gas station while the remaining units responded to the residence. Upon arrival, Deputy E. Garcia made contact with [VICTIM #1], who stated that he had gone to his father’s residence, later identified as [WITNESS #2], to celebrate Father’s Day.

[VICTIM #1] stated that everyone had been eating and having a good time; however, he described himself as the “black sheep” of the family. [VICTIM #1] stated that he was preparing to leave because he needed to purchase groceries. [VICTIM #1] stated that Erika told him that he should bring his children around the family more often. [VICTIM #1] stated that he responded by telling Erika not to bring up his child because she spoke negatively about him and [VICTIM #2].

[VICTIM #1] stated that his cousin, later identified as [WITNESS #3], told Erika to calm down and leave him alone. [VICTIM #1] stated that [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #3] attempted to intervene and calm both Erika and [WITNESS #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that he, [VICTIM #2], and Juvenile 1 left the residence because the situation was beginning to become physical.

[VICTIM #1] stated that he had intentionally not parked his vehicle in the driveway in order to avoid problems; however, Erika and [WITNESS #1] followed him outside. [VICTIM #1] stated that [WITNESS #1] confronted him while Erika walked around and struck [VICTIM #2] first before striking him, causing a small scratch on the right side of his neck.

[VICTIM #1] stated that [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #3] placed themselves between him, Erika, and [WITNESS #1] in an attempt to keep everyone separated while he attempted to leave. [VICTIM #1] stated that he grabbed Erika to prevent her from continuing to strike [VICTIM #2]. While he was restraining Erika, [WITNESS #1] began striking him on the back of the head approximately four times. [VICTIM #1] stated that he and Erika fell to the ground, after which [WITNESS #3] restrained [WITNESS #1] and separated him and Erika from the altercation.

Deputy E. Garcia then spoke with [VICTIM #2], who stated that Erika had laid hands on her and that she wished to pursue charges. [VICTIM #2] stated that everyone had been at [WITNESS #2]’s residence eating and having a good time when Erika began speaking negatively about [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #2] stated that she told Erika not to speak negatively about [VICTIM #1] in front of Juvenile 1 out of respect. [VICTIM #2] stated that Erika told her another individual had informed Erika that [VICTIM #2] intended to “wipe Erika’s a*s.” [VICTIM #2] stated that this was false and that she had never made such a statement.

[VICTIM #2] stated that Erika then stood up and the situation began escalating into a physical confrontation. [VICTIM #2] stated that Erika threw several punches at her. [VICTIM #2] stated that [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #3] intervened to protect both her and Juvenile 1. [VICTIM #2] stated that [WITNESS #1] began striking [VICTIM #1] in the back. [VICTIM #2] stated that the incident initially occurred inside the residence.

[VICTIM #2] stated that they left the residence and that Erika charged toward them and pulled her hair. [VICTIM #2] stated that she kicked Erika in order to create distance between them. [VICTIM #2] stated that [VICTIM #1] again stepped between them to protect her, at which point [WITNESS #1] struck [VICTIM #1] in the back of the head again. [VICTIM #2] stated that [WITNESS #2] was eventually able to separate everyone involved.

Deputy E. Garcia then asked [VICTIM #2] if he could speak with Juvenile 1, and she consented. Juvenile 1 stated that Erika had been fighting with [VICTIM #2]. Due to Juvenile 1 being only three years old, Deputy E. Garcia was unable to fully understand the statement provided.

Deputy C. Cole arrived at the gas station and advised Deputy E. Garcia that Erika admitted she had gone after Ms. [VICTIM #2] in order to punch her. Deputy C. Cole advised that he would complete a supplemental report detailing the information he obtained.

Deputy E. Garcia and Deputy C. Cole then responded to the residence. Upon arrival, Deputy E. Garcia spoke with [WITNESS #2], who stated that [VICTIM #1] had arrived at the residence and everyone had been eating and having a good time. [WITNESS #2] stated that Erika began telling [VICTIM #1] that he should bring his children around the family more often.

[WITNESS #2] stated that [VICTIM #1] began providing excuses to Erika. [WITNESS #2] stated that the argument originated from that conversation and that both parties began disrespecting one another. [WITNESS #2] stated that he asked [VICTIM #1] to leave, and [VICTIM #1] complied. [WITNESS #2] stated that Erika suddenly exited the residence; however, due to having only one leg, he was unable to observe what occurred afterward.

Deputy E. Garcia then spoke with [WITNESS #3], who stated that the situation escalated due to ongoing family issues. [WITNESS #3] stated that [VICTIM #1] and Erika began yelling at one another. [WITNESS #3] stated that he attempted to stop the argument, but both [VICTIM #1] and Erika appeared intent on escalating the situation. [WITNESS #3] stated that [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] were leaving when Erika broke away and exited the residence after them.

[WITNESS #3] stated that after Erika and [WITNESS #1] broke away from him, he remained inside calming [WITNESS #2]. [WITNESS #3] stated that when he eventually went outside, he observed Erika and [VICTIM #1] appearing as though they were about to fight. [WITNESS #3] stated that he then escorted his parents away from the area. [WITNESS #3] stated that no physical altercation occurred and that everyone involved was attempting to escalate the situation and fight.

Deputy E. Garcia then spoke with Erika, who stated that everyone had been eating and having a good time when she told [VICTIM #1] that he should bring his children around more often. Erika stated that [VICTIM #1] told her he worked in Alabama and therefore could not do so.

Erika stated that she suggested [VICTIM #2] could bring the child even if [VICTIM #1] was not present, to which [VICTIM #2] responded that she would not because there was too much family drama. Erika stated that the argument began at that point. Erika stated that [VICTIM #2] continued arguing with her and that both [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #1] eventually began calling her a “fat b*tch.”

Erika stated that [WITNESS #3] attempted to intervene but that [WITNESS #1] separated him from the argument. Erika stated, quote, “Yeah, I was going after him, but I didn’t punch him or anything.” Erika stated that after hearing herself being called a “fat b*tch,” she exited the residence and followed [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] outside.

Erika stated that both [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] continued arguing with her and that she followed them because they had come to her residence and disrespected her. Erika stated that when she approached [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2], [VICTIM #1] grabbed her and threw her to the ground. Erika stated that while she was on the ground, [VICTIM #2] kicked her in the stomach.

Deputy E. Garcia then spoke with [WITNESS #1], who stated that everyone had been eating and having a good time when Erika told [VICTIM #1] that he should bring the children around more often. [WITNESS #1] stated that [VICTIM #2] told Erika that anyone who wanted to see the child could go to their residence. [WITNESS #1] stated that he responded by saying that nobody knew where they live and therefore could not visit the child. [WITNESS #1] stated that [VICTIM #2] told Erika that family members spoke negatively about her and that was the reason they did not bring Juvenile 1 around.

[WITNESS #1] stated that the argument began at that point. [WITNESS #1] stated that he could not fully understand the conversation because much of it was occurring in English. [WITNESS #1] stated that [WITNESS #3] became involved and repeatedly stated that [VICTIM #1] was right and that everyone should leave him alone.

[WITNESS #1] stated that after [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] left the residence, Erika followed them outside. [WITNESS #1] stated that while [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] were in front of their vehicle preparing to leave, they continued arguing with Erika. [WITNESS #1] stated that Erika exited the residence and approached them. [WITNESS #1] stated that he followed Erika and observed [VICTIM #1] grab Erika by the arms and throw her to the ground. [WITNESS #1] stated that he observed Ms. [VICTIM #2] strike Erika in the stomach while Erika was on the ground.

Deputy E. Garcia observed a small scratch on the right side of [VICTIM #1]’ neck. Deputy E. Garcia did not observe any visible injuries on [VICTIM #2]. Deputy E. Garcia observed that Erika had a red bruise on her left arm as well as several small areas of blood on both arms. All photographs taken during the investigation will be uploaded to Evidence.com as evidence.

Based on the totality of the investigation, Deputy E. Garcia reasonably believed that the offenses of Simple Battery and Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree had been committed by Erika Fabiola Bucio. Erika was taken into custody, handcuffed, checked for proper fit, and double-locked. Erika was then transported to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

Erika was charged with one count of O.C.G.A. 16-5-23 (Simple Battery) and one count of O.C.G.A. 16-5-70 (Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree) under Warrantless Arrest Number 71243. A copy of Erika’s criminal history was submitted to document her prior criminal history. Erika was left in the custody of detention staff, and no further action was taken by this agency.
