On 11-4-2025, Deputy Singleton was dispatched to [900 BLOCK] Mount Vernon Road in reference to a reported domestic dispute between the caller, [VICTIM #1] (DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/1975), and her daughter, Hannah LaShay Marcus (DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]1996). Dispatch advised that [VICTIM #1] had called 911 stating there was a physical domestic in progress and that Hannah had thrown what she described as a gas tank at her during the altercation.
Deputy Singleton arrived on scene along with Deputy Emily Weaver. Deputy Singleton made contact with [VICTIM #1], who advised that Hannah had been away from the residence for several days and had returned earlier that day. [VICTIM #1] stated that at first, Hannah was calm but later became irate, began cussing, and made several statements that [VICTIM #1] described as unusual.
[VICTIM #1] advised that two other individuals were present during the incident [REDACTED] (DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]1972) and [REDACTED] (DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]1984). Deputy Singleton searched the property for a gas can but did not locate one. However, he did observe a propane tank lying in the front yard. [VICTIM #1] advised that this was the object Hannah had thrown at her, describing it as a large, cylinder-shaped propane tank.
While Deputy Singleton spoke with [VICTIM #1], Deputy Weaver was speaking with Hannah Marcus, who resides in a small building located on the same property. During their conversation, Deputy Weaver reported that Hannah made several unusual statements, claiming she was a doctor and in the Army, and that someone had stolen her Army gear, among other spontaneous remarks.
Deputy Weaver further advised that Hannah admitted to throwing the propane tank at [VICTIM #1] and one of the males who had been present during the altercation but was not on scene at the time of law enforcements arrival.
Based on the facts and circumstances observed and statements obtained, Deputy Singleton determined there was probable cause to believe that Hannah LaShay Marcus had violated OCGA 16-5-21 (Aggravated Assault) by using a propane tankan object that, when used offensively against another person, is likely to cause or result in serious bodily injury.
Deputy Singleton and Deputy Weaver then made contact with Hannah Marcus. Deputy Singleton took her into custody, placing her in handcuffs that were checked for proper fit and double-locked behind her back. Deputy Weaver conducted a search of Hannah’s person, after which Deputy Singleton secured her in the rear of patrol vehicle 21C17 for transport.
Hannah Marcus was transported to the Whitfield County Jail, where she was booked on the charge of Aggravated Assault (Family Violence), a violation of OCGA 16-5-21.
Following the arrest, Deputy Singleton applied for and obtained a criminal warrant for the arrest of Hannah LaShay Marcus for Aggravated Assault (Family Violence). The warrant was granted by Whitfield County Magistrate Judge Tom Phillips under Warrant #W25-1826. The warrant was served to Hannah Marcus while in the booking area at the Whitfield County Jail.
Deputy Singleton then cleared the jail without further incident.
