On August 4, 2026, at approximately 11:36 AM, Deputy Ramos responded to [REDACTED] regarding a domestic dispute in progress.
Before Deputy Ramos’ arrival, dispatch radioed that the domestic was physical and that the female stated the male had strangled her, but the male had left the scene. Upon arrival, Deputy Ramos contacted [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that at approximately 11:00 AM, her ex-boyfriend, identified as Jeremy Cole Harper, arrived at the residence to give her a car ride to a friend’s house so she could pick up her car. While inside the residence, [VICTIM #1] and Jeremy began to argue about getting back together, but [VICTIM #1] did not want that, as she stated that he had cheated in the past. Furthermore, [VICTIM #1] told Deputy Ramos that she was expressing her feelings about the argument, and Jeremy was saying that she was baiting him so he would hit her.
At this time, [VICTIM #1] told Jeremy to grab all of the remaining belongings he had in the residence since Jeremy had moved out after they had broken up 2 weeks ago. [VICTIM #1] stated that they dated for approximately 3 years and lived together at [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #1] stated that Jeremy said that he did not have anything in the residence because of her, but [VICTIM #1] told him to stop being lazy and start grabbing his belongings, and Jeremy did while calling [VICTIM #1] a “B*tch” and other slurred words. [VICTIM #1] stated that she also defended herself verbally from the verbal abuse.
[VICTIM #1] then stated that while Jeremy was grabbing a few of his items, he grabbed a plastic Minecraft toy sword and proceeded to throw it at her, but missed, and it hit the ground. At this time, [VICTIM #1] stated that Juvenile 1 was in the middle of both of them in the living room when he threw the sword at her. [VICTIM #1] then said that the sword broke into two pieces and the larger piece hit Juvenile 1 in the left leg. Furthermore, [VICTIM #1] told Jeremy that he needed to calm down or she would call the police. [VICTIM #1] stated that when she made this statement, Jeremy got upset and Jeremy proceeded to charge towards [VICTIM #1].
[VICTIM #1] stated that she turned away from Jeremy, but he grabbed her by the back of the neck and lifted her up in the air while still holding her by the neck. Subsequently, [VICTIM #1] stated that Jeremy threw her to a recliner chair in the living room and then shoved her against the wall while still having a hold of her neck. [VICTIM #1] told Deputy Ramos that she struggled and tried to defend herself from Jeremy. In addition, [VICTIM #1] told Deputy Ramos that she was unable to breathe while she was been strangled by Jeremy. Lastly, after Jeremy shoved [VICTIM #1] to the wall, she stated that he let her go and left the scene in an older white Honda Accord.
Hamilton Medical Center EMS transported [VICTIM #1] and Juvenile 1, and they were preliminarily cleared by medical personnel. In addition, Deputy Ramos took pictures of [VICTIM #1]’s neck as she had visible bruising and marks consistent with being choked. The images were uploaded to Evidence.com.
While speaking to [VICTIM #1] at the hospital, she gave Deputy Ramos the possible location where Jeremy resides, which is [REDACTED]. At this time, Deputy Ramos relocated to [REDACTED] to meet with Jeremy. Upon arrival, Deputy Ramos saw an older white Honda Accord on the driveway of the property, consistent with the vehicle description [VICTIM #1] had given Deputy Ramos. Deputy Ramos then knocked on the front door, and Jeremy came out. Deputy Ramos was familiar with Jeremy’s appearance after completing a computer terminal search and familiarizing himself with Jeremy.
Jeremy stated that he went to [VICTIM #1]’s residence to pick up her vehicle.
Once inside, Jeremy stated that [VICTIM #1] locked the front door and blocked said door. Jeremy stated that this made him feel uncomfortable because in the past, [VICTIM #1] has held knives towards him whenever he tried to leave. Subsequently, Jeremy stated that they began arguing because he was texting another woman, and that woman told [VICTIM #1], which caused [VICTIM #1] to block the doorway. At this time, Deputy Ramos asked Jeremy how he was able to leave the residence, and Jeremy stated that he moved [VICTIM #1] out of the way.
Deputy Ramos asked Jeremy to be more specific and asked how exactly he moved her out of the way, and he admitted that he grabbed [VICTIM #1] by the neck while she was facing him face to face and moved her approximately “5 inches” away from the door so he could exit the residence. Jeremy told Deputy Ramos that he never choked [VICTIM #1] or slammed her to the ground like she claims he did. In addition, Deputy Ramos asked Jeremy if he threw a plastic Minecraft toy sword at anyone in the house, and he stated he did not. Additionally, Deputy Ramos asked Jeremy if all of these actions occurred in front of Juvenile 1, and he stated they did.
Moreover, Deputy Ramos asked Jeremy if [VICTIM #1] physically assaulted him, and he stated yes. Jeremy stated that [VICTIM #1] grabbed one of the wounds that he has on his wrist from a motorcycle accident he had in the past and punched him with a closed fist on his right cheek with her left hand. Deputy Ramos inspected Jeremy’s right cheek and observed no marks or bruising and placed his body cam close to his face for evidence. In addition, Jeremy added that this happened before he moved her out of the doorway to get out of the residence.
At approximately 1:36 PM, Deputy Ramos told Jeremy that he was under arrest, placing handcuffs, checking for a proper fit, and double-locking them. At this time, Deputy Ramos took Jeremy to the back seat of his patrol car and transported him to the Whitfield County Jail. Once at the jail, Deputy Ramos served Jeremy with Warrant #W26-1321 for Aggravated Assault, Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree, and Simple Assault-Family Violence. Jeremy was then turned over to the booking staff.
