On 11-14-25, Deputy Townsend was dispatched to [600 BLOCK] Pine Oaks Dr. in reference to a male (Kile Lowery) who had contacted 911 and advised that he had struck a male in the head with an axe who was impersonating his deceased grandfather. While en route to the incident location, the victim [VICTIM #1] contacted 911 and advised that he had been struck in the head with an axe.
Once on scene, Deputy Townsend made contact with Kile, who was standing in the doorway of the front door. Deputy Townsend advised Kile to come to him. During this time, Deputy Townsend asked Kile where the Axe was, and he pointed to where the axe was located on the porch. Once Kile was in the driveway, Deputy Townsend detained him in handcuffs. While in the process of detaining Kile, Deputy Townsend noticed blood on Kile’s hands. When asked whose blood it was, Kile stated, “It’s his, not mine”. After detaining Kile, Deputy Watkins, Detective Witt, and Detective Allen arrived on the scene.
When Detective Witt asked where the injured person was, Kile stated that he locked himself in the bathroom right after he called 911. A short time later, Sgt. Buchanan arrived on scene. Once additional deputies arrived on scene, Deputy Townsend and Detective Witt moved to the front door and announced themselves. As Deputy Townsend was walking up the steps, he observed an axe lying on the railing of the porch; the head of the axe had dried blood on it.
While at the doorway, Deputy Townsend observed blood on the couch and floor of the living room. At this time, a male ([VICTIM #1]) responded from the bathroom. Deputies then gave verbal commands for [VICTIM #1] to exit the bathroom. As [VICTIM #1] was exiting the bathroom, Deputy Townsend observed [VICTIM #1]’s face and shirt covered in blood. Deputy Townsend also observed what appeared to be a large laceration over [VICTIM #1]’s right ear.
[VICTIM #1] stated that they picked Kile up from Tucson, Arizona, approximately two and a half weeks ago, and that he had been having mental problems. [VICTIM #1] stated that Kile has been seeing a counselor due to his having delusions. [VICTIM #1] stated that Kile called him, asked if he could get him something to eat, and if they could talk. [VICTIM #1] stated that during the conversation, Kile got aggravated with him because he couldn’t remember something. [VICTIM #1] stated that Kile is always testing him to see if he is really his grandfather. [VICTIM #1] stated that they were going to go to Miracle Field so that Kile could read a book, and he could walk.
[VICTIM #1] stated that while they were at the residence, Kile went to get a book, and he went to use the bathroom. [VICTIM #1] stated that when he walked in to use the restroom, the next thing he remembered was seeing stars and Kile cutting him up with an axe. [VICTIM #1] described the incident in more detail by stating that when he was initially struck, he fell to the couch. [VICTIM #1] stated that he then picked up some type of dinner tray and was using it to defend himself. There was some type of table lying on its side in the bathroom where [VICTIM #1] was located. There was also blood on the floor and counter in the bathroom. [VICTIM #1] did state that Kile does have mental problems.
As medical personnel were treating [VICTIM #1]’s injuries, they stated that [VICTIM #1] had a total of 3 lacerations to his head and neck area. The injury over the right ear was a horizontal laceration, while the one over the left ear was a vertical laceration. There was a second injury around the left side of the head towards the back. While [VICTIM #1] was in the back of the ambulance, Deputy Townsend noticed a visible injury on [VICTIM #1]’s right forearm.
Detective Witt read Kile his Miranda Warning. Kile did not wish to talk and stated he wanted to speak with someone at the federal level. While taking photographs of the blood on Kile’s hands, Deputy Townsend made a comment to Detective Witt and Detective Allen regarding Kile, stating the blood belonged to [VICTIM #1]. While Deputy Townsend was making the comment, Kile was moving his head in an up-down motion, indicating yes, like he was agreeing with what was being said.
Upon completion of the investigation, Kile was taken into custody and transported to the Whitfield County Detention Center. Kile was charged with Aggravated Assault on warrant (#W25-1887). Photographs were taken and uploaded to evidence.com; the axe was also collected and entered into evidence.com.
