On November 26, 2025, Deputies Daugherty, Townsend, LaCoursiere, Nunez, and Lt. Callahan responded to [100 BLOCK] Moonlit Way in reference to a camper and residence on fire. While en route, dispatch advised that a female, identified as Krista Redman, was on scene and had contacted 911. Dispatch further advised that Krista admitted to starting the fire and that she had an active Failure to Appear warrant for her arrest.

Deputy Daugherty arrived on scene and observed Krista standing in front of the residence. Multiple firefighters were on scene actively working the fire. Deputy Daugherty made contact with Krista and read her Miranda rights. Krista stated she understood her rights and agreed to speak with Deputy Daugherty.

In summary, Krista stated that she uses methamphetamine and hears voices she believes to be demons. Krista admitted she used methamphetamine the previous night, around which time the voices began telling her to set the camper behind the residence on fire in order to kill a snake inside. Krista stated the demons threatened to kill her children if she did not do so. Krista’s children are in DFCS custody. Krista obtained a gas can from the residence and poured gasoline on the camper near the door. She then lit a paper cup on fire and threw it onto the gasoline.

Krista stated she has been staying at the residence for approximately one week. The residence belongs to [VICTIM #1], who was at work during the incident. Krista also stated there was possibly a small black dog and a cat inside the residence.

Deputy Daugherty asked Krista for the lighter she used to start the fire. Krista produced a red torch lighter from her pocket and identified it as the lighter used. The lighter and Krista’s phone were collected and later turned over to Detective Hicks.

Krista further stated that after starting the fire, she thought she heard her sister, [REDACTED], and her ex-boyfriend, [REDACTED], screaming; however, she acknowledged this was likely only in her head, as neither individual was at the residence.

Detective Hicks arrived on scene, and the scene was turned over to him. Krista was placed under arrest. Deputy Daugherty transported Krista to the Whitfield County Jail and turned her over to booking. Deputy Daugherty served Krista with the active Failure to Appear warrant, number 2025-869WM.
