WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. – A joint effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of a man suspected of stabbing a woman to death at a Richardson Road residence late Monday night.
After the sheriff’s office informed the public about the wanted suspect, authorities apprehended Brian Keith Moree four hours later, early Tuesday morning, near Polly Road. They transported him to the Whitfield County Jail, where he faces a murder charge.
The victim died at the crime scene, and officials have yet to release her identity and a possible motive.
Whitfield County Sheriff Darren Pierce stated, “Teamwork is about more than just working together – it’s about bringing all our strengths and resources to bear in the pursuit of justice. It takes a collective effort to respond to a tragedy like this.
In just a few hours, we identified the offender, secured arrest warrants, and tracked him down in the woods to make the arrest. This shows what’s possible when we stand together for our community.”
Moree has numerous prior arrests. He was arrested in July 2021 in Bartow County for possession of methamphetamine and violation of parole. He was arrested again in November 2024 for disorderly conduct in Murray County before his most recent arrest in Whitfield County on murder charges.
This case is currently pending in court.
