On 06/11/2026 at approximately 1402 hours, the Whitfield County 911 Call Center received a call, in reference to a silver Chevrolet Cruze bearing Georgia registration number [REDACTED], driving all over the road that almost hit another vehicle on the roadway.

At approximately 1410 hours, Deputy Crane located the BOLO (Be on the lookout for) vehicle in the parking lot of the Dollar General located at 333 Cedar Ridge Road. Sergeant Buchanan proceeded inside the store while the registered owner, Randall Tigue, was inside shopping. Sergeant Buchanan was informed by an employee that Mr. Tigue was displaying strange behavior during their interaction.

Mr. Tigue exited the store and drove out of the parking lot, where Deputy Crane followed Mr. Tigue to observe his driving pattern. Mr. Tigue was observed swerving within his lane and hitting his brakes several times. At approximately 1414 hours, Mr. Tigue pulled into 487 Cedar Ridge Rd., which was a vacant lot. Deputy Crane initiated his emergency lights and conducted an investigative stop due to the driver stopping the vehicle himself and pulling next to Deputy Findley’s vehicle, located in the vacant lot.

Deputy Crane notified the Whitfield County Dispatch of the stop and approached the vehicle’s front passenger side window, where he indicated for Mr. Tigue to roll the window down. Deputy Crane immediately smelled a strong odor consistent with burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle once the window rolled down. Mr. Tigue was in an agitated state before Deputy Crane could inform him of the reason for his stop. Mr. Tigue continued to try to speak over Deputy Crane, and due to his behavior, Deputy Crane asked Mr. Tigue if he could step out of the vehicle. Briefly after Mr. Tigue stepped out of the vehicle, Deputy Crane observed the crotch region of his shorts was soaked in an unknown liquid, and his zipper was down.

Deputy Crane informed Mr. Tigue that the deputies received a call in reference to his vehicle being all over the roadway and that he had almost caused a collision with another vehicle. Mr. Tigue stated that the reason for his driving behavior was possibly due to the car itself, and that he is going through a divorce with his wife. Mr. Tigue stated without being questioned that he had a “roach” in the vehicle and that he had only smoked marijuana an hour or so before we had stopped him.

Mr. Tigue stated that he would consent to standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST), to which he stated yes. Mr. Tigue was escorted to the center of the vacant lot, where the ground was level and flat, and Mr. Tigue proceeded to make statements indicating that he did not have a choice but to consent to SFST. Deputy Vazquez advised Mr. Tigue that he could refuse the testing and that it was his choice, to which he then refused.

Deputy Vazquez began to advise Mr. Tigue that his vehicle was being searched due to the odor of Burnt Marijuana and that he was exhibiting multiple signs of being impaired, to which Mr. Tigue made the spontaneous utterance, “Do you just want me to tell ya, I went to the doctor today, and they gave me a 10mg Oxy”. Mr. Tigue proceeded to state that he took the pill at approximately 1000 hours, and then he went to his father’s house and smoked marijuana approximately 1-2 hours prior to the stop.

Deputy Crane then read Mr. Tigue the Georgia Implied Consent notice for adults above the age of 21, to which Mr. Tigue refused to provide a sample for chemical testing. Deputy Crane placed wrist restraints on Mr. Tigue’s wrist and advised him that he was under arrest for DUI Drugs. Mr. Tigue was placed in the back of Deputy Crane’s patrol car, where he was read the Miranda Warning.

Deputy Crane asked Mr. Tigue about the prescription bottles found in his vehicle, and he stated that they were filled on this date. Deputy Vazquez located an Oxycodone prescription bottle in the front passenger seat and Deputy Crane identified 96 pills accounted for, and the label indicated that it was to be filled to the capacity of 112. There was also half of a pill that was identified as Aprazolam, a schedule IV narcotic drug. Mr. Tigue stated that he had only taken two Oxycodone within the last few hours.

Deputy Crane asked Mr. Tigue about the Aprazolam located in his Oxycodone prescription bottle, but he stated that the pharmacy must have filled them that way, then continued to display erratic behavior by uttering words and cutting off Deputy Crane while he was being questioned. Narcotics Detective Kirby and Detective McClure attempted to interview Mr. Tigue; however, he refused to speak with them.

Mr. Tigue was transported to the Whitfield County Detention Center and turned over to the booking staff without incident. Deputy Crane filed for an E-file warrant through the Magistrate Court for Mr. Tigue, and he was charged with O.C.G.A. 40-6-391(a)(4) Driving under the Influence of Multiple Substances and O.C.G.A. 16-13-30 Possession of a Schedule IV.

Magistrate court Judge Griffen granted the warrant (WC26-968), Mr. Tigue was served, and he was also served an Administrative License Suspension Form (ALS). Mr. Tigue’s driver’s license was seized, and his vehicle was towed by Doug Yates Wrecker Service. The pill bottle containing the narcotics was submitted into evidence.
