[NARRATIVE #1 on February 27, 2026]
On February 27, 2026 at approximately 0006 hours Deputy C. Cole, Deputy P. Kell, and Sargent C. Sharpe were dispatched to the area of Squirrel Avenue and Tree Top Lane in reference to a fight in progress.
Deputies arrived on scene at [200 BLOCK] Squirrel Avenue and began to speak with a group of individuals parked in the driveway. When asked one of the witnesses, [WITNESS #1], stated that the altercation was just verbal between Rex and [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] was sitting inside the vehicle and stated that Rex was inside the residence in the back bedroom.
Deputies went inside the residence to attempt to make contact with the offender, Rex Evens, who was not located inside the residence.
Deputy C. Cole spoke with the victim, [VICTIM #1], who stated that her and her fiancé, Rex, had been outside their shared residence drinking and listening to music outside. Rex then played a song that [VICTIM #1] did not like so therefore [VICTIM #1] began to walk away from the residence. Rex and [VICTIM #1] began to argue about it and Rex made claims that [VICTIM #1] was walking down the street to meet with someone else and called her a “wh*re”.
[VICTIM #1] then went back inside the residence to grab some of her belongings to leave. [VICTIM #1] then told Deputies that Rex grabbed her by her face as well as around her neck. [VICTIM #1] did have marks on the side of her face which she claims resulted from the altercation. [VICTIM #1] also stated that Rex wrapped his arms around her in attempt to not let her leave. [VICTIM #1] told Deputy J. Middlebrooks that Rex broke the mirror in the bathroom and a flower vase before he grabbed a pan and threw it at her. [VICTIM #1] was offered medical attention but denied.
Deputy C. Cole then spoke with Rex’s son, Juvenile 1, who stated that he was inside the residence and heard the altercation as well as saw his father grab [VICTIM #1], and also witnessed his father pick up the pan with liquid and attempt to throw it at [VICTIM #1].
Deputy C. Cole then spoke with [WITNESS #1], who was inside the residence when the altercation occurred. [WITNESS #1] stated that the altercation was also physical and not just verbal. [WITNESS #1] stated that she saw Rex and [VICTIM #1] begin to argue and then she saw Rex pick up the pan with liquid and throw it at [VICTIM #1] before she tried to intervene and tell Rex she would be contacting Law Enforcement. [WITNESS #1] also stated that she saw Rex grab [VICTIM #1] around the neck and attempt to not let her leave the residence.
While inside the residence allowing [VICTIM #1] to grab some of her belongings Deputy C. Cole noticed a kitchen cabinet with broken glass. When Deputy C. Cole asked [WITNESS #1] about it she stated that Rex also broke that during the altercation.
Deputy C. Cole then spoke with [WITNESS #2], who was also inside the residence and witnessed Rex grab the pan and throw it at [VICTIM #1] attempting to hit her with it. [WITNESS #2] states he saw Rex grab [VICTIM #1] around the neck.
Deputies searched the surrounding area attempting to find Rex however, they were unable to locate him.
[VICTIM #1] was provided a Victims Bill of Rights form as well as Case #202600992 and was going to stay with [WITNESS #1] for the night. Photos of the marks on [VICTIM #1]’s face, as well as the damage inside the residence will be uploaded to Evidence.com.
This case will remain inactive pending warrants.

[NARRATIVE #2 on February 27, 2026]
On February 27, 2026, at approximately 1439 hours, Deputy N. Woods responded to [200 BLOCK] Squirrel Avenue in Whitfield County in reference to a welfare check.
Upon arrival, Deputy Woods observed two females, later identified as [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1], standing outside the residence with a male, later identified as Rex Evans. As Deputy Woods exited his patrol vehicle, all three individuals entered the residence. Shortly thereafter, both females exited the residence without Mr. Evans. Deputy Woods advised that no one was in trouble, at which time Mr. Evans exited the residence.
Deputy Woods was informed that an arrest warrant had been applied for Mr. Evans the early hours of said date. Deputy Woods returned to his marked patrol unit and placed multiple phone calls to confirm the status of the warrant.
A short time later, Deputy Woods placed Mr. Evans in handcuffs, checking them for proper fit, and escorted him to the rear seat of his marked patrol vehicle. Mr. Evans was transported to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to booking staff without incident.

[NARRATIVE #3 on February 27, 2026]
On February 27, 2026 Deputy C. Cole made contact with Magistrate Judge Weaver in regards to a warrant application. Deputy C. Cole discussed case 202600992 with Judge Weaver who approved warrant W26-360.
Deputy C. Cole made contact with Rex Evans in booking at the Whitfield County Jail and served him with felony warrant #W26-360 with the charges of O.C.G.A. 16-5-41 False Imprisonment, O.C.G.A. 16-5-21 Aggravated Assault, O.C.G.A. 16-7-21 Criminal Trespass, and O.C.G.A. 16-5-70 (e) (3) Cruelty to Children in the 3rd degree.
Rex Evans will remain in custody at the Whitfield County Jail.
Case 202600992 will be cleared by arrest.
