On 2/5/2025 at approximately 1931 hours, I was dispatched to Thornton Ave and W Crawford St regarding a motor vehicle crash. I was informed on the radio a white passenger vehicle had crashed into the south stair case of 101 N Thornton Ave.

I arrived and saw a white 2021 Toyota Corolla bearing Georgia plate [REDACTED]. I observed two empty twelve ounce cans of Pabst blue ribbon beer, one tall can of Budwiser beer, and a bottle of Fireball whiskey in the passenger floor board. I took photographs of the vehicle and the building. These photographs were later uploaded into this report. The seat belt was locked to the frame which indicates when the collision happened the driver did not have it on. S&M towing took the vehicle.

I spoke with two witness. Refer to the gears crash report for their statements. Both indicated the vehicle was traveling northbound on N Thornton Ave driving fast and recklessly. They saw it loose control making the left turn and hit the building. They said they saw the driver get out and take off west on Crawford St.

Officers Cruz and Murdoch went to the address listed on the registration. Shortly after they contacted Ryan Hansen walking to that location. He admitted to have been the driver and that he had consumed alcohol. Refer to officers Cruz and Murdoch’s supplement regarding the contact and standard field sobriety test. I was informed by the other officers he was found to have been impaired and they were taking him to Whitfield County Jail.

I went to the jail. Officer Murdoch showed me the results from the state breath test. It showed Ryan had a result of .148 BrAC. I issued him citation 613143 for dui alcohol .08gm or higher, 613144 for leaving the scene of an accident with damage, 613145 for open container, 613146 for reckless driving, and 613146 for seat belt violation. I also read and issued him the Georgia department if driver services administrative suspension and implied consent form. I later attached a copy of that form and the test results.
