On July 12th, 2026, Deputy Evans was dispatched to Dawnville Rd to look for a BOLO vehicle headed into Whitfield County from Murray County. Dispatched advised there was a Silver in color GMC Yukon that was all over the roadway, almost hit another vehicle head on, and almost struck a mailbox.

While Deputy Evans was traveling southwest on Dawnville Rd, Deputy Evans spotted the vehicle traveling northeast on Dawnville Rd. Deputy Evans quickly turned his vehicle around and tried to catch up to the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle quickly turned onto Old Underwood Rd and stopped at [200 BLOCK] Old Underwood Rd. Deputy Evans got out of his patrol vehicle and approached the vehicle. Deputy Evans begin speaking to Salome Aldaba-Romero who was the driver. While speaking to Salome, he advised he could not speak good English. Deputy Evans could smell a alcoholic beverage on Salomes breath and noticed him staggering while standing up outside the vehicle.

While Deputy Evans was speaking to Salome, Deputy Ramos and Deputy Sharp arrived on scene. Deputy Ramos translated and advised if Salome would conduct a field sobriety test, Salome agreed. After conducting the field sobriety test, Deputy Evans placed Salome in hand cuffs, checked for fit, double locked, and placed Salome in the back of Deputy Ramos’s patrol vehicle.

The owners of the property advised they would call Franks Towing Company to pick up the GMC Yukon.

At this time Deputy Evans charged Salome with Citation #WC505894 OCGA 40-6-391(A)(1) DUI- Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol and Citation #WC505895 OCGA 40-5-20(A) Driving Without a Valid License.
