On 08/19/2025 at approximately 2049 hrs I, Ofc W Womack, responded to a disturbance call at [400 BLOCK] Cedar St.

When I arrived on scene, Sgt M Parker was speaking with the complainants, [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #1] stated that “Sherry” had gone crazy and threatened them with a bat. They stated she was banging the bat around and even threatened to hit his dogs. We asked to follow them to their camp and speak with Sherry.

We made contact with Sherry Snelling and asked her what had happened. She stated that [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] had been messing with her while she was asleep. She stated they would shake her tent or throw things at it and touch her feet while she slept to wake her up. This made her mad so she grabbed a baseball bat and began hitting a grocery cart to scare them away. As they left her area, she followed them out of the camp and to Lake Shore Park, hitting the bat on the ground and on trees screaming at them.

Following [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] to Lakeshore Park after their willingness to leave her alone originally constitutes acts of a provoking nature and a breach of peace. Sherry was arrested for disorderly conduct and charged on warrantless arrest form 70732.

During this incident the suspect was advised that they were under arrest. The suspect was searched incident to the arrest. My patrol vehicle was searched prior to and following the transport of the suspect. The suspect was secured in a seatbelt during transport. The suspect advised that they are a U.S. Citizen. While at the jail my department issued side arm was secured in a locker. The suspect and their belongings were handed over to booking staff at the jail with no issues. Booking staff was made aware of any medical or security risks at the time of handing them over.
