Victor Mendez was arrested on February 12th, 2020 for shoplifting at the Wal Mart located at 2545 E Walnut Ave in Dalton, GA.

On 2-12-20 at 1922 hours Deputy Townsend arrived at 2545 E. Walnut Ave. (Walmart) in reference to a shoplifter in custody. Once on scene Deputy Townsend made contact with Mr. [REDACTED] who is an employee with Walmart (loss prevention).
Mr. [REDACTED] stated that Mr. Mendez was observed taking the price tag off of a jacket and then putting it on.
Mr Mendez was then observed walking through the store selecting merchandise (3 qts of Castrol GTX high mileage 10w40, a six pack of Natural Light and one 24oz Steele Reserve) and concealing the merchandise inside a black back pack.
Mr. Mendez was then observed exiting the grocery side of the store where he was apprehended by loss prevention. Mr. Mendez did not pay for any of the merchandise. The total cost of the merchandise was $33.82.
After speaking with Mr. [REDACTED], Deputy Townsend placed Mr. Mendez under arrest and transported him to the Whitfield County Detention Center were he was charged with Theft by Shoplifting (16-8-14) on warrantless arrest (#60955).
