CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. – At approximately 9:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2024, Chatham County Police officers responded to a Quacco Trail residence and found three people deceased from apparent gunshot wounds, including a 14-year-old male.
Police stated that shortly after, they detained 42-year-old Junior Thomas Babcock for the deaths of his parents, Connie (68) and Daniel Babcock (71), and his teenage son, Junior Thomas Babcock, Jr. “LJ” (14). The Chatham County Corner’s Office said each victim was shot at least one time.
The Babcocks’ son-in-law stated, “Daniel and Connie Babcock’s greatest desire was to honor the Lord by loving their family and helping others. LJ Babcock loved to be outdoors. Fishing was his greatest passion. His smile was infectious. The lives of his friends, family, and schoolmates will forever be changed by his presence and now by his absence.”
Authorities disclosed that they do not anticipate any additional arrests in this case. They will not be releasing any additional information, including a motive, at this time.
Babcock remains in the Chatham County Jail without bond.
