On 05/24/2026 at approximately 1948 hours, I was dispatched to Edgewood Park Apartments, [2600 BLOCK] North Columbia Street, where I made contact with the complainant, [REDACTED], in refence to an incident which occurred.
[REDACTED] advised his son, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (15 YOA), called him advising his uncle, Benjamin Renfroe, was assaulting him and his mother. [REDACTED] advised he called and heard a lot of commotion in the background and called for law enforcement to not get himself in trouble.
[VICTIM #1], mother of [REDACTED], and brother of Benjamin stated Benjamin arrived home by a family friend shortly before this incident occurred. [VICTIM #1] advised Benjamin was drunk, and the friend refused to let him drive, which upset him. [VICTIM #1] stated Benjamin became argumentative with their mother, [WITNESS #1], about having favorites and choosing sides. [VICTIM #1] stated Benjamin then switched to her, starting a verbal argument, before swinging and striking her. [VICTIM #1] stated her and Benjamin tussled for a bit, before her sons, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (11 YOA), jumped in to defend her. [VICTIM #1] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a cut on his back from the incident. [VICTIM #1] further advised she had a cut on her finger from it as well. [VICTIM #1] stated she did not wish to pursue charges, only for Benjamin to be made aware of his wrong doings and possible legal repercussions. [VICTIM #1] further advised Benjamin lived with her, their mother, and the kids—in apartment [REDACTED].
[WITNESS #1] advised Benjamin arrived home drunk and became belligerent with her. [WITNESS #1] stated shortly after, Benjamin struck [VICTIM #1], causing her two grandchildren to get involved to defend their mother.
Benjamin stated he was jumped by his nephews for arguing with his sister, and he did not know why. Benjamin further complained of having a knot on his head from the incident and wished to pursue charges on them.
Benjamin was arrested and placed into double locking handcuffs per Milledgeville Police Department Policy and placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle. Benjamin was transported to the Baldwin County Law Enforcement Center without incident. Two warrants for battery family violence were secured for Benjamin.
Photos of all the injuries were taken and uploaded to the report.
