I was dispatched to Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin in reference to a domestic that occurred at [3000 BLOCK] Heritage Place Apt. [REDACTED].

Upon arrival, I made contact with Christopher Brooks and Michelle Renfroe. Christopher and Michelle are ex-boyfriend and girlfriend and have a son together named [REDACTED]. Christopher is currently dating [VICTIM #1] who has two children of her own named [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. Christopher stated that after [VICTIM #1] went to work, he took [REDACTED], [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] to Michelle’s house at [2600 BLOCK] North Columbia Street Apt. [REDACTED], to install a TV in [REDACTED]’s room. Christopher stated [VICTIM #1] drove over to the location and started being aggressive towards Michelle and Christopher. Christopher stated [VICTIM #1] got into a physical altercation with Michelle, at which point Christopher tried to intervene. Christopher stated [VICTIM #1] left the scene and returned to her residence at [3000 BLOCK] Heritage Place Apt. [REDACTED].

Christopher stated he went to [VICTIM #1]’s house and attempted to gather his belongings. Christopher stated [VICTIM #1] was became irate and pushed him several times, then hit his head with a vase. Christopher stated after being struck with the vase, [VICTIM #1] then left the scene. Christopher stated he called Michelle to pick him up from the residence and take him to the hospital and called 911. Christopher sustained injuries including a knot on the left side of his forehead and a scrape on his right forearm. Michelle has small scrape on the palm of her right hand.

I was able to have dispatch call and connect [VICTIM #1] to my cell phone. I was able to confirm her location and go to her residence at [3000 BLOCK] Heritage Place Apt. [REDACTED]. Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated she received a message from [REDACTED] showing his location at Michelle’s. [VICTIM #1] stated she did not approve of her children being taken to Michelle’s residence by Christopher and left work to pick up her children.

[VICTIM #1] stated that after she arrived at Michelle’s, Michelle became aggressive and was yelling at her. [VICTIM #1] stated Christopher also became erratic when [VICTIM #1] continued on to the property to retrieve her children. [VICTIM #1] stated Michelle then grabbed [VICTIM #1] by the hair and pulled her to the ground and began hitting her. [VICTIM #1] stated she fought back in self defense, and Christopher joined the altercation, to defend Michelle. [VICTIM #1] stated she believes [REDACTED] may have also joined the fight and struck her in the mouth. [VICTIM #1] stated that she retrieved her children and took them to her mother’s residence.

[VICTIM #1] stated she went back to her apartment to change clothes. [VICTIM #1] stated Christopher arrived at her apartment and continued to argue with her and became aggressive. [VICTIM #1] stated she pushed him away and was attacked by Christopher. [VICTIM #1] stated Christopher pinned her on the ground and began strangling her with a gold in color vase. [VICTIM #1] stated that while she was strangled by Christopher, she hit Christopher’s head with a different vase and was able to run out of the apartment.

[VICTIM #1] stated she left the residence and drove to her mother’s house. The injuries [VICTIM #1] sustained include a cut lip, ear, foot and left forearm, and red marks on her neck and left buttocks.

I observed broken items and objects strewn about [VICTIM #1]’s bedroom, indicative of a struggle. I also observed marks in the carpet, and [VICTIM #1]’s vomit in the area where Christopher allegedly strangled her. With these observations and considering the rest of [VICTIM #1]’s house appeared to be clean and organized, I was able to conclude that Christopher did assault [VICTIM #1] in such a manner.

[VICTIM #1] denied EMS services, and has been advised to call 911 if Christopher or Michelle come to her residence or attempt to contact her in person. I obtained a warrant for Christopher Brooks for Aggravated Assault (family violence). I obtained a warrant for Michelle Renfroe for Battery.
