On 02/02/2023 at approximately 0049 hours I arrived at [100 BLOCK] Black Springs Road, in reference to a male subject with a gunshot wound. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had called to report that a male had been shot at the residence. She did not witness the shooting, as she was in the bathroom at the time it occurred.
Upon arrival I made contact [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on the front porch. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated, [VICTIM #1], had a gunshot wound to his chest. I entered the house and made my way to the victim. [VICTIM #1] was unconscious and unresponsive. I went back to the front door to get Deputy Clements and medical supplies.
Myself and Deputy Henderson started searching for entry and/or exit wounds to stop the bleeding. We noticed a wound on the left side of [VICTIM #1]’s chest. Once we placed the bandage wrap on the wound, Deputy Henderson started to administer CPR. While Deputy Henderson administered CPR, I was removing the jacket and shirt [VICTIM #1] had on. I took over CPR from Deputy Henderson, as she continued to remove the clothing.
EMS arrived on scene and began giving medical aid to [VICTIM #1]. We moved [VICTIM #1] to the stretcher and I continued to administer CPR while EMS strapped [VICTIM #1] on the stretcher. We transported [VICTIM #1] to the ambulance. [VICTIM #1] was turned over to EMS.
Deputy Clements placed crime scene tape around the residence. No one re-entered the residence until GBI arrived.
Once [VICTIM #1] was turned over to EMS, Deputy Henderson began acquiring information about the incident.
Scene turned over to the Detective Division and the GBI.
Case remains active.
