On 07-16-2024, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Gilmer Avenue in reference to shots fired. Lieutenant Towe, Sergeant Brown, Deputy Goss, Deputy Garcia, and I arrived on scene.
Upon arrival, I made contact with [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated she was inside the house when she heard a commotion coming from the front yard of the residence. [WITNESS #1] stated she observed three young black males in her front yard attempting to fight her son, [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated she grabbed her firearm, and instructed the males to leave her yard. [WITNESS #1] stated the males got in a blue sedan and began to leave, but discharged a firearm multiple times as they left.
[WITNESS #1] provided me with camera footage from the ring door bell camera. I then made contact with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated he did not know the males who attempted to fight him, and did not have any previous history with the males. Sergeant Brown located two F.C. Luger 9mm shell casings at the intersection of Gilmer Avenue and Towns Street. Photos were taken using Axon Capture. The shell casings were secured into evidence bags.
Deputy Harker was able to locate a blue Honda Accord, Georgia tag [REDACTED], on the FLOCK camera system. This vehicle matched that of the one seen on the Ring video, and was captured arriving and leaving the area around the time of the incident. Deputy Harker located the blue Honda Accord at the registered owners address of [200 BLOCK] East Camden Street.
All previously stated Deputies arrived at [200 BLOCK] East Camden street. Upon arrival, I made contact with Montavous Williams and [REDACTED]. Williams stated he was driving the car during the time of the incident. Williams, without being asked, stated he didn’t have a gun and did not shoot at anyone. I then detained Williams in handcuffs and LT. Towe read Williams his Miranda Rights. Williams requested an attorney prior to answering any questions. No further questions were asked of Williams.
[REDACTED] stated the car belonged to her, and gave us consent to search the blue Honda Accord. Sergeant Brown located one F.C. Luger 9mm Shell Casing on the floor behind the driver’s seat. Photos were captured using Axon Capture.
I placed all shell casings gathered into evidence locker 007. All pictures and videos will be uploaded to evidence. I will secure warrants on Williams for Reckless Conduct, Disorderly Conduct, and Discharging a Firearm On A Public Road.
