On April 18, 2026, at approximately 1406 hours, I responded to Wal-Mart, 2592 North Columbia Street, in reference to a theft which had already occurred.
Upon arrival contact was made with Asset Protection Personnel, [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] advised a Black male came into the location, gathered a few items and proceeded to self-checkout register 03. [WITNESS #1] advised the male paid for the majority of the items but failed to scan a Mac wagon valued at $98. [WITNESS #1] advised personnel at the last point of sale advised the male the item was not paid for, but he proceeded to leave the location in a grey in color newer model pickup truck.
[WITNESS #1] provided a possible location where the male is known to work.
Upon arrival to the location provided, 901 West Montgomery Street, a vehicle matching the description provided was noted in the parking lot area. Upon entry to the location, the reported stolen wagon was located in plain sight and offender was located inside the location. The male was identified as Robert Johnson. Johnson was advised the reason for our contact and arrested without incident on a citation for Theft by Shoplifting. Johnson was transported to the Baldwin County Law Enforcement Center, 119 Old Monticello Road, without incident. Reported stolen property was recovered and turned over to asset protection as requested.
