I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Lee Street apartment [REDACTED], in reference to a possible domestic. 911 dispatch stated a text message to E911 had come in from Thelma Barnes that said “He grabbed my wrist bruised it . I have a bruise on my right wrist.” “Keep this message confidential anonymous. I don’t want him to know I message this to y’all. Just know [REDACTED] grabbed tightly and bruised my right wrist.”
Upon arrival, I made contact with [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] stated Thelma was in the bedroom. [REDACTED] stated Thelma told him she needed to get him locked up so she can start paying rent and take over the apartment. I told [REDACTED] that Thelma told E911 that he grabbed her and left a mark on her wrist. He stated Thelma had previously told him that the mark on her wrist was caused by a hospital band she had been wearing last week. [REDACTED] stated Thelma told him she was going to tell E911 that he made the mark on her wrist.
I made contact with Thelma. She showed me the mark on her wrist, which looked consistent with a plastic type band making contact with the skin over time. I asked Thelma to tell me what happened. Thelma said she did tell [REDACTED] the mark on her wrist was from her laminated hospital band. When I asked her again what caused the mark on her wrist, she stated it was from the band. Thelma told me she was upset with [REDACTED] because she wasn’t feeling well and he told her he “didn’t give a fu*k” about her feelings and emotions. When I confirmed with her that she made a false report to E911 due to her being upset with [REDACTED], she said “Yes, I did that, yes, I did that.”
Thelma was placed under arrest, transported to the jail, and turned over to jail staff without incident.
A warrant was secured for false report of a crime.
