On February 20, 2025 at around 3:57pm corporal (Cpl.) Burns responded to a child molestation call [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in Lula.
On scene, Cpl. Burns spoke with the complainant, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who is the guardian of the victim. The victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], was adopted by the complainant seven years ago. The complainant told Cpl. Burns the victim had informed her this date that the offender has been molesting her every week since she was 10. The victim is now 17. The complainant stated the victim had been performing sexual favors for the offender every week here at the residence in the basement. The complainant stated the victim also told her that the last favor was this past Monday, 02/17/2025. This did not occur at the residence. The offender owns a shop in Gainesville located at 1664 Oakbrook Drive and the assault occurred at that location most recently.
Deputy Motes was inside the residence while Cpl. Burns spoke with the complainant. The victim told Deputy Motes that the offender had the victim perform sexual favors to get out of punishments or for payments. Deputy Motes informed Cpl. Burns of this as investigator bales from the criminal investigations division (CID) arrived. Cpl. Burns gathered the applicable information for the report. The information was turned over to Inv. Bales who continued the investigation.

The offender was not on scene at the time of contact with the victim and complainant. The complainant stated she had called the offender and informed him she had contacted the Sheriff’s Office.
