[NARRATIVE #1 on August 15, 2026]

On Saturday, August 15th, 2026, at approximately 2341 hours, I was dispatched to [1000 BLOCK] River Bluff Drive in reference to a Gun Shot/Stab Wound. I responded Code 3 (emergency lights and sirens) to the location. The caller indicated that the ex-boyfriend of his girlfriend arrived at his residence and stabbed him with a knife. He further noted that the suspect would be present at the scene, positioned next to a blue pickup truck in front of the property.

While en-route, Sgt. Meeler indicated via radio that he had one detained and one at gunpoint, complying with instructions. Upon arrival, I proceeded to Sgt. Meeler, who informed me that the male in the driveway, whom he had at gunpoint, was not secured in handcuffs. I approached with my taser drawn before holstering it to secure the male, later identified as Mr. [WITNESS #1], in handcuffs; then the handcuffs were checked for fit and double-locked. While securing the handcuffs, Sgt. Bazinet instructed Mr. [WITNESS #1] to inform him of where the stab victim was. Mr. [WITNESS #1] hesitated for a second before responding and informing Sgt. Bazinet that the victim was located within the residence. Sgt. Bazinet quickly proceeded into the residence, where he ultimately applied a tourniquet to the male’s right leg.

I was then informed via radio that Mr. [WITNESS #1] was the father of the male who had been stabbed in the leg. Mr. [WITNESS #1] told me that the male’s name was [VICTIM #1]. I assisted Mr. [WITNESS #1] to his feet and removed the handcuffs so that he could be with [VICTIM #1]. Mr. [WITNESS #1] then went inside the residence while I returned to my patrol vehicle to conduct a GCIC/NCIC inquiry on him and added him to the call. After that, I went back to the scene of the incident and took photos of the area outside. I proceeded to the Med Unit on scene, where [VICTIM #1] was being transported via gurney. Meanwhile, Sgt. Meeler escorted the suspect, later identified as Mr. Aaron Collier, to his patrol vehicle to read him his Miranda warning. However, Mr. Collier refused to answer any questions. He was informed that his cellphone would be seized as evidence, and he was provided with an Evidence Chain of Custody form regarding this.

While speaking with [VICTIM #1], he told me that he and his girlfriend had just returned home and were about to take the dog for a walk together. As they were in the driveway, Aaron approached in his vehicle and almost hit them. [VICTIM #1] said that Aaron got out of his truck and walked toward [VICTIM #2] while yelling at her. He claimed that Aaron slapped the cup out of [VICTIM #2]’s hand and then pushed her. [VICTIM #1] observed this and then engaged in a fight with Aaron in the front yard. He said they were both on the ground fighting when [VICTIM #2] tried to get Aaron off him. At that moment, Aaron pulled out a knife and stabbed [VICTIM #1] in the leg. [VICTIM #1] then got up and ran into the house to inform his father about what had just happened. That’s when he saw his father exit the residence with a shotgun, as Aaron was still on the scene.

After leaving the Medical Unit, the medical staff continued their assessment of [VICTIM #1] while I began taking photos of the scene. I started by capturing images from the exterior of the residence, specifically from the roadway opposite the house, before proceeding inside. During this time, other personnel were gathering written statements from Mr. [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #2] about the events that had occurred at the location. Additionally, another unit took photos of [VICTIM #2]’s clothing and her arms and legs, which showed visible dried blood and a small bruise forming on her right arm.

Meanwhile, Sgt. Bazinet secured the knife involved in [VICTIM #1]’s stabbing, placed it in a paper evidence bag, and stored it in the trunk of my patrol vehicle. The knife was notable for its double-edged blade, which measured approximately three to four inches long. The handle, painted black, showed visible signs of wear, with areas where the paint had peeled away to reveal the underlying metal. A lever on the handle allowed the blade to slide forward and backward, indicating it had a mechanism that could be manipulated during use.

After completing the photographic documentation of the scene, I returned to my patrol vehicle to run all individuals involved through the GCIC/NCIC before adding them to the call. Sgt. Bazinet informed me that he had also captured photos of the interior of the residence, as well as the wound to [VICTIM #1]’s leg before he was removed from the house. I obtained written statements from Mr. [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #2] and reviewed them before placing them in my patrol vehicle. While reviewing [VICTIM #2]’s statement, I noticed that both her account and [VICTIM #1]’s aligned with the sequence of events that had occurred prior to our arrival. I then reviewed Mr. [WITNESS #1]’ written statement. Although it was brief, it matched what [VICTIM #1] had told me regarding the incident that happened when his father was informed about his stabbing. I secured both statements in my patrol vehicle to prevent them from being misplaced.

Deputy Matherly completed a vehicle inventory on Aaron’s blue Ford F-150, bearing Georgia tag [REDACTED]. The vehicle was parked in front of the residence’s driveway before it was removed by Patrick’s Wrecker Services. Additionally, Deputy Matherly completed the required impound documentation for Aaron’s vehicle. After collecting all the photos, statement forms, and evidence, Mr. [WITNESS #1] asked where [VICTIM #1] had been taken. He was informed that [VICTIM #1] was transported to Athens Piedmont Medical Center. Mr. [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #2] indicated that they would be heading there shortly. Both were given a case card related to the incident, and [VICTIM #2] was also informed that warrants would be obtained regarding Aaron’s actions against her.

Sgt. Meeler transported Aaron to the Barrow County Detention Center for me and relinquished Aaron into the custody of the jail staff without incident.

Investigator Geiman was informed of the situation, and advised that the suspect was apprehended and all evidence was collected and secured in evidence lockers.

Photos taken at the scene were saved onto a black thumb drive, which was submitted into LERMS as evidence. This drive was secured in a safe evidence locker before the end of my shift. The knife was also entered into LERMS as evidence; it was properly packaged, with the blade remaining exposed due to blood on it. The knife was secured in an evidence locker before the end of my shift as well. Additionally, the written statements were placed in the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) box in UPD.

I have obtained the following warrants for Mr. Aaron Collier:

Warrant # 2026-25779FW; Aggravated Battery – F (O.C.G.A. 16-5-24); Aaron Collier intentionally harmed [VICTIM #1] by seriously disfiguring him. Specifically, he maliciously stabbed [VICTIM #1] in the upper thigh with a double-edged pocket knife, causing profuse bleeding that necessitated the application of a tourniquet to control the hemorrhage.

Warrant # 2026-2580FW; Aggravated Assault – F (O.C.G.A. 16-5-21); Aaron Collier assaulted [VICTIM #1] with a black-handled, double-edged knife. When used offensively, this type of knife is likely to cause serious bodily injury. In this instance, [VICTIM #1] was stabbed in the upper right thigh, leading to profuse bleeding that required the application of a tourniquet.

Warrant # 2026-2581FW; Possession Of Firearm/Knife During Commission Of Crime – F (O.C.G.A.16-11-106); Aaron Collier was in possession of a black-handled, double-edged pocket knife that was approximately 3 inches in length during the commission of Aggravated Battery, O.C.G.A. 16-5-24, a felony.

Warrant # 2026-2582MW; Simple Battery – M (O.C.G.A. 16-5-23); Aaron Collier, in a deliberate and aggressive manner, initiated physical contact with [VICTIM #2] that was both insulting and provocative. He approached her with hostility, abruptly knocked the cup from her hand, and forcefully shoved her with both of his hands, demonstrating a clear intent to intimidate and provoke.

Warrant # 2026-2583MW; Battery – M (O.C.G.A. 16-5-23.1); Aaron Collier intentionally caused visible bodily harm to [VICTIM #2] by shoving her with both hands, resulting in a bruise on the front of her right upper arm.

[NARRATIVE #2 on August 15, 2026]

On 8/15/2026 at approximately 2348 hours, I responded Code 3 (emergency lights and sirens) to the residence of [1000 BLOCK] River Bluff Dr in reference to a stabbing.

Upon arrival, I observed a younger white male lying face down on the road with his hands behind his back secured in a pair of handcuffs. Sgt. Meeler was standing in the driveway and had an older white male at gun point. Deputy Thurman and I approached the older white male and as Deputy Thurman began to detain him, we learned that the victim was located inside the residence.

I then proceeded toward the front door of the residence and noticed a significant amount of blood leading from the end of the driveway to the front door of the residence. As I entered the residence, I noticed more blood on the living room floor and observed a white male, later identified as [VICTIM #1], sitting in a chair. He advised he was stabbed in his upper right thigh and was currently holding a paper towel over the wound. Due to the amount of blood loss and potential threat to his life, I applied a tourniquet to his right leg, effectively controlling the bleeding until EMS arrived. Once EMS arrived, I exited the residence and began assisting with controlling the scene and helping Deputy Thurman with gathering information and evidence.

While on scene, I also spoke to the suspect’s father, [REDACTED]. I briefly informed him of what had occurred and what known charges were at that time. While speaking with [REDACTED], he stated that his son Aaron Collier suffers from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and takes medication daily. He also advised that Aaron had been told to stay away from his ex-girlfriend and her residence.

Several photos of the victim’s injuries, the suspect’s injuries, and crime scene were obtained. All photos were provided to Deputy Thurman.

[NARRATIVE #3 on August 15, 2026]

On 8/15/2026 at approximately 2348 hours, I responded Code 3 (emergency lights and sirens) to the residence of [1000 BLOCK] River Bluff Dr in reference to a stabbing that occurred outside of the residence.

Immediately upon arriving at the scene, I observed a younger white male lying face down with his hands behind his back secured in a pair of handcuffs. The male was located in the street in front of the residence, in front of his truck (a blue Ford F150 bearing Georgia license plate [REDACTED].) Sergeant Meeler gave me the instructions immediately upon running up to him to make contact, to stay with the male that was already detained. I immediately stood next to the male, keeping eyes on him. I asked the male what his name was, to which he identified himself as Aaron Collier. I did not ask the male any further questions during the time I was standing next to him.

Shortly after asking Mr. Collier what his name was, another Deputy on scene asked Sergeant Meeler a question to the effect of “are all weapons secured”, or some question pertaining to weapons being accessible to parties on scene. While lying there, Mr. Collier yelled something to the effect of “I dropped the knife over there, in the grass.” Mr. Collier offered this information without being asked. A few minutes passed as other Deputies secured the scene when Sergeant Meeler asked to stand the male up so he could be taken to a patrol vehicle. I stood Mr. Collier up and took him to Sergeant Meeler’s patrol vehicle. There Sergeant Meeler read Mr. Collier his Miranda rights. After being read his rights, Mr. Collier declined to speak with Deputies on scene without an attorney present.

After that moment, I assisted on scene with obtaining pictures of a witness to the stabbing and victim, Ms. [VICTIM #2]. I pictured Ms. [VICTIM #2]s’ clothing, as she had blood on multiple articles of it, including her hands and legs. After taking the pictures, I provided them to Deputy Thurman to attach to the case report that can be found under the same case number.

[NARRATIVE #4 on August 15, 2026]

On August 15, 2026, at 2336 hours, I responded code three (Emergency Lights and Siren) to [1000 BLOCK] River Bluff Dr. in reference to a stabbing. While en route, dispatch advised that the suspect was still on scene, sitting in front of his truck that was parked in the street.

Upon arrival, I observed a male later identified as Aaron Collier sitting in front of a truck, and he started to stand up. I exited my patrol car, drew my service weapon, and gave loud verbal commands to Collier to get on the ground. Collier complied and lay down and placed his hands behind his back. I then approached Collier, holstered my weapon, and placed him in handcuffs. Once Collier was secured, I turned my attention to another male coming towards me in the driveway. Not knowing all the details yet, I pointed my weapon at him and ordered him to his knees, to which he complied.

Once other deputies arrived, the male later identified as [WITNESS #1] was detained. From there, I followed Sergeant Bazinet and Deputy Cantrell into the residence, where Sergeant Bazinet located a male later identified as [VICTIM #1] sitting in a chair with a stab wound to his right upper thigh, and it appeared that he was losing a significant amount of blood. Sergeant Bazinet applied his tourniquet to [VICTIM #1] to contain the bleeding. It was also determined that [WITNESS #1] was the father of [VICTIM #1] and was released from being detained.

I then walked back out to where Deputy Matherly was standing over Collier, and that is when Collier spontaneously uttered that the knife was over in the grass. I walked over and located a knife lying in the grass that was later photographed and collected for evidence. As Deputy Thurmond was conducting her investigation, I, along with Deputy Matherly, walked Collier to my patrol vehicle where Sergeant Bazinet photographed him. During the photographing, a small incision was located on the torso of Collier that was not bleeding. Collier was then searched and placed in the backseat of my patrol vehicle. At approximately 2359 hours. I read Miranda rights to Collier, to which he declined to speak with me.

I then assisted where I could and had the medical personnel that was on scene examine the incision on Collier’s torso. Collier was cleared and did not need medical attention. Once it was cleared to do so, I transported Collier to the detention center where he was turned over to the deputies on duty without incident. Prior to leaving the detention center, I searched the backseat of my patrol car for contraband, and nothing was found.
