Officer’s Narrative:

On 12/11/2025 at approximately 1619 hours, I was dispatched to [6300 BLOCK] Hickory Dr in reference to an assault. I responded to the area code one.

Upon arrival, I met with the victim, [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that on the day before 12/09/2025, an incident took place between her and her boyfriend, Amidaus Sanchez. [VICTIM #1] stated that she has been dating Amidaus for approximately 2 to 3 months; they had never lived together and did not have children together.

[VICTIM #1] stated that Amidaus has been mentally and physically abusive for the past couple of days, leaving bruises and trauma. I observed bruises on [VICTIM #1]’s left arm and legs. She stated that those bruises occurred a few days prior when he was grabbing her by the arms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Amidaus has made threats in the past about having cartel members come to her residence to cause harm to her and her roommates if she stopped sharing her location with him or if she left him without writing him a letter explaining why.

[VICTIM #1] stated that on the afternoon of 12/09/2025, between the hours of 1500 and 1700 hours, Amideus came over to her residence located at [700 BLOCK] Hwy 211 NW Lot [REDACTED] to visit her. She stated that her roommates were not present when Amideus came over. [VICTIM #1] stated that they were having a good time watching movies. She stated that at one point, she grabbed a spoonful of mayonnaise, and Amideus slapped the spoon out of her hand, making contact of an insulting or provoking nature.

[VICTIM #1] stated that an argument ensued, and Amidaus laughed and told her he was just playing around. [VICTIM #1] stated that she grabbed the bottle of mayonnaise and began walking towards the living room. When Amidaus saw her walking towards him with the bottle of mayonnaise, he turned her around, wrapped his arms around her neck, and began applying pressure to her neck, preventing her from breathing.

[VICTIM #1] stated that she thought she was going to die and was not able to breathe while Amidaus was applying pressure to her neck through a rear-naked choke. [VICTIM #1] stated that she attempted to pull Amidaus’ arms from around her neck, possibly causing defensive scratch marks on his arms. She stated that Amidaus eventually let her go and began asking her if she was done. She stated that Amidaus told her, “If you keep going, I’ll choke you again”.

While looking at [VICTIM #1]’s neck, I observed bruising to her neck and jaw area consistent with her claims of being choked from behind. Pictures of the marks were taken and will be attached to this report. [VICTIM #1] was upset and visibly in fear when speaking about Amidaus’s actions and manipulation. She stated that Amidaus claims to be affiliated with the Mexican cartel and claimed that he could’ve had bad people break into her residence to do bad things to her and her roommates.

[VICTIM #1] stated that after the incident, Amidaus poured lighter fluid on her bed and threatened to set [VICTIM #1] on fire if she didn’t act good. [VICTIM #1] noted that she was in fear for her life from Amidaus’s actions and verbal threats towards her. While I was on scene, [VICTIM #1] received a phone call from [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #1] answered the phone and learned that Amidaus was on the line. [VICTIM #1] confronted Amidaus about the choking incident, and he admitted that he choked her and told her that he had already reported the incident, so she didn’t have to bother doing it.

[VICTIM #1] confronted Amideus about the threats, and he again stated that if she didn’t give him a reason for breaking up with him and didn’t share her location, he would have a cartel member come to her residence and cause harm to her and her roommates. This conversation was recorded on my bodyworn camera.

After a moment of listening to Amideus make threats and attempt to manipulate [VICTIM #1] with fear, I took over the phone call, identified myself as a deputy sheriff with Barrow County, and told Amideus to stop contacting [VICTIM #1]. Shortly after, [VICTIM #1] also told Amideus to stop contacting her, and she then hung up the phone. [VICTIM #1] stated that Amideus continued calling her and began reaching out to her friends on Instagram. [VICTIM #1] stated that she blocked Amideus from all social media platforms and the unknown number he was calling her from initially.

[VICTIM #1] stated that she was in fear for her life and did not feel comfortable staying at her residence for the night. She advised that she would be spending the night with her [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to avoid unwanted contact with Amideus. [VICTIM #1] was given a victim notification pamphlet and was informed of the resources available to her if she wished to seek any. I explained the process for obtaining a TPO at the Barrow County Courthouse against Amideus if she wished to do so. She stated that she would apply for one in the morning.

Medical services arrived on scene and evaluated [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised that she would get medical treatment at a later time due to not being able to afford an ambulance bill. [VICTIM #1] was given a case number and explained the process for obtaining a copy of this report. I obtained warrants against Amideus for the following violations.

1. Aggravated assault. When Amidaus assaulted [VICTIM #1] with the intent to murder by wrapping his arms around her neck from behind her back. Amidaus applied pressure to her neck, restricting [VICTIM #1]’s ability to breathe. Amidaus did assault [VICTIM #1] with his arms, which, when used offensively against a person, are likely to or actually do result in serious bodily injury. [VICTIM #1] had bruising on her neck from this assault. During a phone call recorded on body body-worn camera between Amidaus and [VICTIM #1], he did admit to choking and assaulting [VICTIM #1].
2. Terroristic threats. When Amidaus called [VICTIM #1] while I was on scene and made threats to have people come to her residence and cause harm to her and her roommates. Amidaus made threats to kill [VICTIM #1] if she left him without an explanation. Amidaus made comments to [VICTIM #1], insinuating that bad things would happen to her if she stopped sharing her location and reminded her that he was affiliated with the cartel.
3. Simple Battery. Amidaus did intentionally make physical contact of an insulting and provoking nature with the person of [VICTIM #1] by slapping a bottle of mayonnaise out of her hand after a verbal argument.
