On May 15, 2026, at approximately 1939 hours, I was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], Winder, GA, 30680 in reference to a dispute call. The caller was identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

She advised Barrow County Dispatch that her daughter-in-law, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], was in the middle of a conflict with a male subject at the residence. The caller advised that the male subject had vandalized a vehicle on her property. The caller was able to get the male subject to leave the property prior to law enforcement’s arrival. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised dispatch that the male subject was a white male wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. The male subject was identified as Mr. Chris Gordon. Officers were advised that he left on foot away from the neighborhood. Ofc. Pierce located the male suspect near the intersection of North 5th Avenue and Langford Street. Ofc. Pierce advised via radio communications that the suspect was not complying with his orders. I responded Code 3 to the area in my marked patrol vehicle (Emergency Lights and Siren).

Upon my arrival, I observed the male suspect kneeling down in the public roadway of Langford Street. Ofc. Pierce directed Mr. Gordon to stand up, but he refused to comply with orders. I also directed Mr. Gordon to stand up, and he refused to comply again. Mr. Gordon was given a lawful order to stand up as he was obstructing the roadway and causing a public disturbance adjacent to Winder Barrow High School. Note: the school was hosting a sports event, and vehicles were actively driving around the area. I could also see bleeding cuts on his hands. Due to his noncompliance, Mr. Gordon was detained in handcuffs. The handcuffs were double-locked and adjusted for proper fitment. Mr. Gordon was directed again to stand up and resisted against officers as we attempted to lift him off the ground. The suspect began to “dead weight” his body in protest as we guided him up onto his feet. I could also smell the odor of alcohol permeating from his person. I decided to pursue charges against Mr. Gordon and place him under arrest. Mr. Gordon also admitted to consuming alcohol.

Mr. Gordon and his belongings were searched incident to arrest for weapons, contraband, and any means of escape prior to escort. The search incident to arrest yielded negative results. I also searched the black book bag that the suspect was wearing, with negative results. I kept the bookbag on the suspect as he was in handcuffs and being noncompliant. As Mr. Gordon continued to shout and argue, I could also detect a slight slur in a couple of words he spoke.

Mr. Gordon was placed in the back seat of my patrol vehicle behind the front passenger’s seat. Mr. Gordon was buckled in. I relocated to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to meet with the caller and assess the property damage. Mr. Gordon continued to be belligerent and made profane remarks towards me, including referring to me as a *mother*****r”. Mr. Gordon was advised to refrain from using vulgar and profane language to no avail.

Upon my arrival at the [REDACTED BY AGENCY] residence, I observed a gray Honda Accord (GA Tag# [REDACTED]) that had shattered glass on the left rear passenger door. I made contact with the registered owner, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and her mother-in-law, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that she was notified by the victim’s juvenile daughter that her mother was being pushed by Mr. Gordon. When I asked the victim to clarify what happened, I was advised that he was trying to keep her from going inside the house.

Furthermore, I was advised that Mr. Gordon attempted to restrain and hold [REDACTED BY AGENCY] against her will as she tried to go back inside her residence. The suspect grabbed and held the victim by her upper arms. I observe blue bruises and red discoloration on the back of the victim’s left and right arms. The marks were consistent with the victim being grabbed. The immediate bruising suggested that the suspect used violent force when he gripped her arms. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] did attest that Mr. Gordon held her to prevent her from walking away from him. I was also advised that the victim’s smartphone was destroyed by the suspect. I did observe that the device’s screen was completely shattered, and the phone appeared to no longer work.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] also confirmed that the phone was no longer operable. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that the altercation started over a verbal dispute between her and Mr. Christopher Gordon. I was advised by [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that she was ending their relationship, and it angered Mr. Gordon. During this incident, Mr. Gordon took possession of the victim’s iPhone 17 Pro Max and shattered the car window. I was able to get clarity on how exactly the suspect cut his hands, but I suspected that the cuts were caused by the shattered window. I was also made aware that Mr. Gordon broke the fob for the victim’s Honda. I observed that the ignition key was completely broken off from the fob. The total cost of damage to property was estimated to be $2,650.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, I found that Christopher Lyle Gordon was the main aggressor during this incident. Mr. Gordon displayed violent or tumultuous behavior towards [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and placed the victim in reasonable apprehension of her safety and the protection of her life, limb, health, and property. Furthermore, when the victim attempted to separate herself from the suspect, he grabbed her and attempted to stop and control her movement without reasonable justification or consent. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that she was reluctant to contact law enforcement because she was concerned that he might retaliate more. Though she wanted to press charges.

The victim was advised that Mr. Gordon was in custody and would be transported to the Barrow County Detention Center. I advised her that a victim notification sheet would be filed at the jail so that she could be notified of the suspect’s release from custody. I provided the victim with a business card containing our agency’s phone number and a case number to call to report additional information about the case and to receive information about the case. I explained to the victim what to do if the suspect or the suspect’s companions attempt to threaten or otherwise intimidate her. Photos were taken at the scene by Ofc. Melnicuic and Ofc. Harris, per my request. I was also advised that the couple had only been dating for approximately three months. They did not live together, nor did they share any biological children.

Mr. Gordon began to create a disturbance in the back seat of my patrol vehicle, and the assisting officers on the scene checked on him while I concluded my investigation. Mr. Gordon became irate again and was still using profane language by the time I returned to my vehicle for transport. Mr. Gordon began making crude marks towards me in an attempt to incite anger or a reaction from me. I disregarded his comments as we traveled to the jail. However, Mr. Gordon began hurling racial slurs that were directed towards Ofc. Pierce and the reporting person, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. He referred to them both as “Crackers” which is a racial derogatory remark towards the Caucasian ethnic groups. He also continues to shout more profane language and other derogatory remarks for the remainder of the escort.

Upon arrival at the Barrow County Detention Center, Mr. Gordon and his belongings were turned over to the staff. Mr. Gordon continued to use profane language and failed to comply with direct orders from the jail staff. Mr. Gordon continued to be noncompliant and had to be physically escorted into a booking cell by the jail deputies. Note: the arrestee cut his lip as his false teeth retainer came unloose while he was being guided to the ground by jail deputies. The jail nurse on duty did perform a medical evaluation before he was escorted away to the cell. My back seat was searched for contraband prior to Mr. Gordon’s entrance and exit of my patrol vehicle with negative results.

The following warrants were procured against Mr. Christopher Lyle Gordon:

  1. False Imprisonment – #2026-1526FW
  2. Criminal Damage to Property (2nd Degree) – #2026-1527FW
  3. Disorderly Conduct – #2026-1528MW
